Moderation Queue

On multiple RIVAL forums i have noticed ''Moderation Queue'' which lets you stop a user from posting for like 5hrs and there post has to be Moderated and allowed to be posted

I think it would be better than a straight BAN!

I think it would only be delayed in posting if it had innapropriate content of some sort posted within.

Ill explain in more detail

A admin/mod is scrolling through the forums... O look... Caihlem has posted a link to a website which has pornographic material enclosed (Against My Board Rules) Instead of slapping a ban on them cant we like say...

Moderate posts for X amount of hours

Permanently Moderate Posts Y/N

To stop those stupid spammers who just come on the site to spam it you could set it to moderate a users first post? or set it to moderate 2 or 3??

This is a great way to prevent the spammers and stop banning.

Stop banning? I still dont see the point. I rather ban the guy/girl for spamming my forum. Not give them a secound chance. Isnt that why we have warning systems?

Yeah, But they will see the message ''Your message has been added to the moderation queue'' and they will think CRAP, what a waste of my time

I don't think you quite understand the purpose of spamming. It's not to make some crazy long post that takes half an hour to write...they're often just like 3 word posts which take less than 5 seconds. It probably takes YOU more time to moderate them.

And when they finally realise they aint gonna get that message on the boards when they register i dont think they would spam as you could maybe flag there username up with your staff mods/admins!

Also if a mod finds someone spamming voila! - Depending how they feel moderation queue OR a ban :0
