Solved Invision Board CSS Probems

Post by sagadegeminis on April 12th 2013, 5:03 pm

Upgraded my board to Invision and i applied the following skin...
http://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/jg-for-mj-tribute-141277.htm

I love this skin, but i have encountered quite few problems and was hoping if anyone could help me fix it Sad Mad

First: The following widget does not have the white table as the others. I have tried fixing it but i wasn't succesfull.

Code:
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/forum" class="postlink"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/Untitled-1_zps441896b2.png" border="0" alt="" /></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f2-proximos-lanzamientos" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/0_zpsaa6d38db.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f15-galeria-myth-cloth" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/1_zps7576b826.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f43-galeria-myth-cloth-appendix" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/2_zpsa84998ee.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f16-galeria-myth-cloth-ex" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/3_zps30bc78bf.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f17-galeria-myth-cloth-crown" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/4_zps0b806285.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f35-eventos-tamashii-nations-show-rooms-mas" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/5_zps8fa4bbc7.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f7-mercancia-saint-seiya" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/6_zps3bdf6fa6.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f36-figuras-cosmos-burning-collection" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/7_zps423617d2.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="http://www.mythcloth.net/f37-mercancia-no-oficial" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/8_zps3604af11.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>

Second: This widget is not supposed to have the table option enabled, however it shows this weird white line

Code:
<center><a href="http://www.facebook.com/MythClothNet" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/facebook_zps37e03677.png" align="left" border="0"></a>
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/GoldenMythV2?feature=watch" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/youtube_zps5e76fca9.png" border="0"  align="left"></a>
<a href="saintmythcloth@yahoo.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/email_zpsf69ba263.png" border="0" align="left"></a>
<a href="https://twitter.com/MythClothNet" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh600/GoldenMyth/twitter_zpsca247a36.png" border="0"  align="left"></a></center>

Third: The emoticon table is fixed, thanks to E-Mark, but now the forums backgound is white and my banner won't show...

Fourth: The avatars & body text collide with one another, i have tried resizing the avatar with but nothing happens...

For #4, can you please provide a test account?

How do i provide a test account?

Fifth: FIXED! :wouhou:

Im assuming all of these problems have to do with the CSS codes, but i don't really know nothing about using that.
Hopefully someone can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

I tried the skin on my test forum:

1 & 2.The widget on my portal doesn't seem to have the white border like on your forum, can you post the code of those widgets here.

3. Try this codes, add it at the bottom of your CSS:

Code:
.smiley-selector {
padding-top: -400px !important;
}

I'm not really sure how to change the smiley area, I think this requires template access.

4. Try limiting the size of the avatars on your forum:
Admin Panel > Display > Avatars Gallery > Personal Avatars
Set the maximum avatar size to avoid this
> Save

5. I still can't find where to change this in the CSS. Sad

Please don't double/triple post. Your post need to be separated by 24 hours before bumping, replying or adding more information. Please use the edit button instead.

For the #5. Can you give this a try:
Code:
div.maintitle {
height: 40px !important;
}

When you changed version, did you change it in the administration panel or by installing a Invision theme from Hitskins? It is best to install a theme or change versions directly from Hitskins.

Solved Re: Invision Board CSS Probems

Post by E-Mark on April 14th 2013, 9:59 am

For #3, find this part in your CSS:
Code:
html {
background-image: url(http://i85.servimg.com/u/f85/14/05/90/80/top10.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: top center;
background-color: #2f2f2f;
}

Now change it with this one:
Code:
body {
background-image: url(http://i85.servimg.com/u/f85/14/05/90/80/top10.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: top center;
background-color: #2f2f2f;
}

Then at this at your CSS:
Code:
body.smileys {
  background-color: transparent !important;
  margin-top: -400px;
}

Then click save!

For #4, can you please provide a test account?
For #6, it's not possible since it requires template editing which is impossible with Invision Smile.
