Solved Background on Homepage

Post by Cin007 on April 21st 2013, 9:13 pm

Is it possible to add my background to the blue space on my forum? I would like for the background that I have on there now to show on the wrapper, I guess that is what the blue area is called. See Screenshot below.

In CSS find this code:
Code:
.bodyline{
    background-color: #f6bbf6;
    border: 1px #ee66aa solid;

change background-color with: background-image: url("https://i73.servimg.com/u/f73/17/67/57/61/apriho10.jpg")

but first write down in notepad background code to return it if you don't like my suggestion

Thanks again Doc, but all I can find with .bodyline are...

.bodyline{ -moz-border-radius: 1px;}

.bodyline {
-moz-border-radius:0px;
}

a.mainmenu {
background-colour:

.bodyline{ -moz-border-radius: 4px;}

body {
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
a { text-decoration: none; }

.bodyline {
-moz-border-radius:4px;
}

Could it be one of the above codes?

Which blue space on the forum?

OK, so I'm talking about the color blue on the home page where I have Background typed in. That is where I want to place the background that I now have set as the background, but I also want it applied there where you see the blue. and I have a hard time seeing.

No, I didn't because I never found the code that he mentioned. I replied what codes I did find in the post above, but here they are again.

.bodyline{ -moz-border-radius: 1px;}

.bodyline {
-moz-border-radius:0px;
}

a.mainmenu {
background-colour:

.bodyline{ -moz-border-radius: 4px;}

body {
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
a { text-decoration: none; }

.bodyline {
-moz-border-radius:4px;
}

End
I never found the one that was mentioned which is this...
.bodyline{
background-color: #f6bbf6;
border: 1px #ee66aa solid;

I want to try adding the background image that I have applied to the background...the part behind the solid blue area. The solid blue color is where I want to add the background image so it will match. But I do see that there is a border around that solid color.

Hello,

This would be the code to change the background for that:
Code:
.bodyline {
background-image: url("URL OF BACKGROUND IMAGE HERE");
}

It will be applied to the whole forum body. Give it a try and see if that's what you want. Wink

Thank you for your reply.

Are we talking about about the index body under General?

It is getting really late here, so it may be morning before I can add the code and reply again.

I do want to try the code you gave me, but want to be sure I'm adding it to the correct place before adding. Please let me know. I'm looking at
Genera<Template<General
I see index body there...is that where I place the code?

I apologize for putting bold text... Cin007, read all I wrote, Sanket, Sir Chivas and Jophy too... your background is an image and you should add this code in CSS:

Code:
 .bodyline {
    background-image: url("http://i73.servimg.com/u/f73/17/67/57/61/apriho10.jpg")
    }

but it may change color of other things as well... be careful

Your code seems to be wrong,

Should be like this:
Code:
 .bodyline {
    background-image: url("http://i73.servimg.com/u/f73/17/67/57/61/apriho10.jpg") !important;

Solved Re: Background on Homepage

Sorry it took me so long to get back here. That code does work. I've applied it to a temporary skin for now until I finish editing. Thank you so much.

Is there anyway you could take a look at my codes? I think something is haywire because once I click into a forum the "Last Post" area seems to be too wide. I have removed those tiny icons but that causes the forums to have way too much space between them. It is hard for me to explain and that is why I asked if you could take a look for me.

Thank you for you help.

No I don't, but since you're admin here can't you just come on in?

I looked at the link that you provided in your last post and yes, that is how I want the last post area to look, but then it is way off somehow.

If I remove those tiny icons it makes a huge gap between the forums and that is why I have all of those tiny icons in last post area displayed.

Update: I tried the code from the link you provided at the temporary sites where I'm editing before publishing. It worked in the Css at the temporary forum, but will not work on the one I'm actually running or the one that is published. Does that code, on the link you provided, go in the color Css? This link....

Oh, Ok. thanks. I did apply the temporary theme where I had applied the last post code as it worked there. I have sorted out the "last post" issue. I think everything is OK now, so we can close this post if that is OK.
