Solved Centering background/multiple backgrounds

Post by KuroKuma22 on May 4th 2013, 12:52 am

I've been using forumotion for a while now on multiple sites, very useful tool, however, I haven't use coding in a long time, and realize that in order to achieve my goals for my current project, I'm going to need to break back into the habit.

So my question is this, is there anyway to center a background so that it fills the screen irregardless of screen size, I have the issue where the background isn't centered on some screens, but it tiles on others, depending on the screen size of course.

My other question, is if I create say, 12 catagories visible from the home page, is it possible to give each category it's own background image when clicked?

Admin > display > Header and navigation > Logo positioning : Center and save Smile

for the second question i don't think that possible in forumotion,

I apologize for any misunderstanding, I meant the actual background image itself. I had seen a theme where te background image was centered, and it didn't tile like the image on my background. When I get home tomorrow morning I'll try to put together some examples of what I'm talking about to help clearify.

Right now the background image is huge, so I plan on cropping it or finding something more relevant once I figure out how to achieve what I'm looking for.

Not very good at describing things, sorry.

No need for that, here, add this to your CSS and the background will be fixed.

Code:
body {
background-size: 100% !important;
}

thumleft

Thank you, I'll have to try it when I get home. Sorry if I double posted, I'm currently at work on my phone.

As for my second question, that's a real bummer, I'm building an rp, and I think it'd be really neat if each category from the main page had its own background, so when players clicked that category, it made it feel a little more like they were visiting that location.

I just got home and tried it out, it works pretty good, thank you. The image repeats itself if the screen is too small width wise, but I don't know that that is going to be a problem down the line. Really appreciate the help.
