How to let the author see the "like" button and how many people like his particular message?

No. I managed to put the like button in my forum. The problem is that the author of a message or comment cannot see the like button or the number of likes for his or her own posting.

That tutorial will not show who liked a message. The like button should appear for everyone.

I have followed the instructions in that tutorial and now I can use the like button in my forum. However, the button appears for everyone but the author. Please look at the picture attached. I would like the author of a message or comment to know how many people who liked his or her posting. I am a dummy in stuff like CSS or Javascript. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me.

I just think the like button will make no sense if the author himself does not know how many people have liked his own posting.

Try this:

http://www.avacweb.com/t195-9-a-new-like-vote-system

I just tested this and when someone liked my post I could see that one person had liked it. I couldn't see the author itself but I could tell someone has liked it.

I think avcaweb might have updated the code since that tutorial was posted. I could be wrong though.
