In progress Is it possible to redirect the portal to another site?

Post by Fae on May 8th 2013, 4:07 pm

My website is
http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com

This leads directly to the portal. However, I am thinking about adding another site in the navigation bar and have that be the default page that shows up when the above address is typed. Is there a way that I can redirect it to a new address?

For example, if want google.com to be the new address, can I redirect http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com/forum to google.com ?

Thanks.

Hello,

Not sure, if you're talking about redirecting your forum completely to another forum/link, try the following:
http://help.forumotion.com/t122472-redirect-my-old-forum-to-my-new-forum?highlight=redirect
http://help.forumotion.com/t113305-redirect-a-forum-to-another-forum-or-webpage?highlight=redirect

You can use the search for the same questions.

I don't believe I understood either directions from the two links very well. Also, no... I am not redirecting to another forum. It's a completely different site.

Let us use google.com as the example for the site to be redirected to. I am currently still working on building the other site, so it is not ready to be used as an example at the moment.

Just remove your main portal link out of the navigation bar.
Remove the image and do not allow text to show for your portal tab.

Now add a new custom nab tab called portal and add the URL for where you want it to go.

Let's say forum.com is the link to the portal. If I remove it from the navigation bar and add a new tab that goes to newforum.com, does that redirect forum.com automatically to newforum.com?

From what you suggesting, it seems like the user would have to click on the new tab to go to newforum.com.

Okay. To explain better, here is exactly what I want to do.

I want http://honorguard.portfoliobox.me/ to be my default page for my forums. It directly links to the forums from its own navigation menu.

Currently, I have http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com/ as the default. This is the portal.

How do I make http://honorguard.portfoliobox.me/ show up automatically when people try to go to http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com/ ?

Is it possible?

@fae if you want to do that..
user is not automatically redirect user need to click your html page before they redirect to another forum..

try this code.
AP>>Modules>>HTML>>Create new HTML
right this code

Code:
<html>
<head><title>TITLE HERE</title>
<head>
<body bgcolor="black">
</a></div><div style="margin:auto;text-align:center;width:100%"><a href="LINK OF ANOTHER FORUM" ><img src="URL IMAGE HERE"></a></div>
<a href="http://www.forumtl.com" target="_blank">forumtl.com</a>

Do you wish to use your forum header and footer ? : Tick NO
Use this page as homepage ? : Tick YES

code With Redirect in this forum http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com/
Code:
<html>
<head><title>TITLE HERE</title>
<head>
<body bgcolor="black">
</a></div><div style="margin:auto;text-align:center;width:100%"><a href="http://honorguard.guildmmorpg.com/"><img src="URL IMAGE HERE"></a></div>
<a href="http://www.forumtl.com" target="_blank">forumtl.com</a>

Change the URL IMAGE HERE so that once the user click that image they redirect..
