Banning Message Error

When someone at our Forum is banned a message is sent to them saying they have been banned for several months.

However, we have only banned that member for 2 and sometimes 3 days. I checked their user profile page and it shows the correct date when their ban will be lifted.

Is there a way to fix this? This has never happened before.

Fix what? You said your ban is for 2 or 3 days and is showing correctly in the profile. so whats the error?

In any case, the ban settings are according to how whoever is doing the ban sets it.
they can set it for a day to permanent or like i do a lot just add 9999999999 all the way across the line.. lol As far as giving a reason for the ban. I know a lot of people never put a message, However i feel it is better to at least put why they was banned so the person knows. But that's up to you and your staff

When I go to the Administrators Panel and then to the Ban Control it shows the member being banned until October. They e-mailed me and asked why they were banned for so long. Several members have. So when they try and sign into the site it says they are banned for longer then they really are.

Well it must be someone setting it like that?
Just unban them and then ban them again for how you want it.

Other then that will check all ban controls on my test forum to see what's what.
You should tell your admins to do the bans on the board and not in admin panel.
It is more straight forward to set it as you want?
