What is "Ad Removal" and what does it do?
How would it be activated, etc.?

Hello,

You remove ads by purchasing credits via Paypal or Allopass.

You can read about credits and what you can do with them by reading this thread. http://help.forumotion.com/t1219-credits-management?highlight=Credits

They remove the banner ads that are placed on your forum such as the ad you mentioned called "undress me".

Thank you kindly.
I found the "Buy Credits" on the "Misc/Credit Mgt," but don't see how much it will cost, etc.

Would this be it?

Add 12 month(s) : 1000 Credits // 1000 = $12.90 ($12.90 to have ads removed for one year for members?)

(Are you using this method or do you allow banners to be showing?)

I'm currently working on a forum and I will use credits when the time comes. I am currently a staff member on another forum and we've removed ads via credits and it does make it looks nicer.

Click on "Buy/obtain credits" and then click on either payment option. I'd suggest paypal as it is cheaper and then you'll see a screen, select your currency then you'll see the costs for credits.

I bought 1000 and then spent them and now it says "You have currently 0 credits. You have used 1000 credits since 16 Feb 2013"

What does that mean? Is something wrong?

Are you the founder of the forum? Have you spent any kind of credits before?

I don't think you've done anything wrong, what did you spend the credits on?

In "Credits management / History" it states:

Admin Thu 16 May 2013 - 9:03 Ads disabled for members Add 12 months without ads - 1000
Admin Thu 16 May 2013 - 9:00 Additional credits + 1000 +
If I remember correctly, I opened this forum the beginning of this year. This is the first time I've purchased credits and that is why I wonder why it says (in Credits management): ""You have currently 0 credits. You have used 1000 credits since 16 Feb 2013"
I thought my ads would be removed from today through May 2014. They are mentioning Feb. 16, 2013, which confuses me.
How can I confirm that my ad removal for members will remain in effect for one year from today's date?

Ah,

I never read the wording correctly first time around. When it says "You have used 1000 credits since 16 Feb 2013" that means the total amount since you opened the forum.

Second of all, you've removed ads for one year, the best you can do is ask members to report to you if they see ads when logged in or you could make a test account. However I've never known a forum to suddenly start having ads again when a member is logged in before the expiration date of the ad removal. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Thank you again. You mentioned that you saw my other post and I wonder if you happned to notice the part where I said that several pop-ups were blocked. I posted a picture of those URLs that were blocked. Have you ever seen any pop-ups on your forum (or are they blocked also)?
I'm just wondering if someone visits my forum and doesn't have pop-ups blocked, he might get pop-up that might harm his computer. Some of them I googled and they seem to be "suspicious." Especially "api viglink"

Any ideas?

I'm sorry I'm not entirely sure. I always have my pop up blocker on and only disable it for certain sites.

You should probably keep your question to the one thread though instead of posting it around.
