In progress Own posts marked unread

Post by Zeedief on June 3rd 2013, 9:23 pm

On my forumotion forum, when members post, their own posts are marked as 'unread' and are linked to the most recent unread post in each board, only to find it was the post they just made. I'm having the problem as well as the other membere on the forum. I was thinking it must be forumotion, as I can't find any way I could fix the issue.

I am a little lost. So when you reply to a post, the thread is showing the New Post icon?

Basically, yes. After posting a post, the icon with a link that redirects to the most recent post that's unread in a board shows up. (the newest post being the post you made)

That is how it works on my forum and the support forum. It shows it, but it does not show it as unread, because it does not have the New Post icon.

That's what my problem is though...it does show the post as unread, even though it really isn't.

Please post a screenshot of the recent post page of your forum.

Generally when I've had this happen to me its because I've made a post and then when I've submitted the post, I've quickly clicked off the post page and went to another page and its shown my post as new.

Its sometimes quite annoying but I haven't really found an issue with it.

Anyway I thought I'd just share my experience of how it happens to me.

There's the screenshot.

@Derri
Interesting, but I never had this happen until yesterday, and the forum has been around for nearly a year...so I'm not sure that's what it is.

^ Sorry, I'm using a tablet now, I'll post one thay works when I get on my desktop...

Also, apparently it's been happening for one of the other members since March and they never told me, so it isn't just recently.

I am not completely understanding the problem yet and will read the thread again.

I should note that on my forum, the arrow is orange when there is a new unread post in the board. It's blue when it's been read.

I'm Zero Revolution, so as you can tell, it says it's unread even though I'm the one who posted it, therefore it should not be marked unread.
