Someone recently attempted to sign up for my forum using a `mail@privatedomain.co.uk` email address (run via gmail) but the forum registration said that their email address was invalid. Is this because it was a generic email address and so was caught by the spam filters?

If so can I change the settings temporarily to allow this person access? I know the person isn't a spammer as it is someone I have been in contact with before
