In progress Change Forum Founder

Post by Evilpath on June 11th 2013, 12:52 am

Hey, I just want to hand over my mantle of founder at my forum to someone else, but I do not want to lose my posts or account as I will still be a part of the forum. Is this possible, and if so, how?

Do you want to give away the founder account? There is not really any way to transfer the founder account to someone else and keep your posts. You will have to repost your posts with a different account.

you could give him acces as a administrator second, as he wont have acces as much as you will, you do this by : Apc=>Users&groups&=>Users=>Administration users=>Chose name=>Permissions=>User level=>Choose administrator

Well, I know how to make him an administrator, but I just want to go on as a regular member of the site, and make him founder. However, I want to keep my posts as it is an RP forum.

how about just make him administrator, and take your rang/rank off by yourself, as you will appear as a normal user, and he will appear as a administrator, and this way you can keep your name and posts.

What I did on a previous forum along time ago was our founder just agreed he wouldn't post in the staff section and we'd only contact him on the forums or outside of the forums if there was an emergency only he could solve or if we needed something to do with credits, otherwise he'd just take a back-seat in all the operations on the forum.

However like everyone else has answered you can't physically hand over foundership of a forum to someone else.

Forgive me for dragging up a older thread but, I would like to know how to change founders as well. I'm not worried about losing post count in the event there is a change in the future.

Thanks
