(Only Topic!) New Editor
First topic message reminder :
Is there a way to opt of this new editor? If not is there a way to at least set the smiley's back to the old way. They are hard to see even with the mouse over feature. Any member we have with poor eye sight will not be able to use them. I ware glasses and it's hard for me to make head nor tails on the smileys.
Thanks in advance for a quick reply.
Edit:
A few solutions for the problems.

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
Yes, even we wish that we were able to get feedback in a proper way. However, most of the bugs are already reported by us.
Making more threads, is just going to create more confusion according to me. Thats the reason, we will stick with only one thread at the moment. Also, we are already helping users who have problems related to their computer or specific to them.
Thank you for the suggestion. Its really appreciated.

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
A fine point, Captain, but some of us are looking for temporary solutions so that our members can continue using the forums while the staff is working out the bugs. After the editor has been sufficiently updated, I will be more than happy to remove any code that messes with it.
Although I think the fact that mobile users need the editor as well is the most important issue, there are actually a lot of other bugs this BETA release has.
I'm sure the admins are keeping an eye on this thread and will be able to gather a lot of useful information from it, even from the posts where users comment on which codes worked for them or not.

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
I'm sure this has come up over the 17pgs but I'm getting a lot of negative feedback.
Constantly locking up and crashing
You have to delete words instead of editing through words
replies caught in the quote (when quoting)
It's really not working well for me.

Something along those lines.
A lot of people in this thread are saying IE does that.

Was the template modified? If it was delete the modifications. (Notepad, etc) Save the modifications before deleting them.

How do I delete the modifications? I tried clicking on the default value and there still was nothing called even "editor" in that whole template.
Edit: it was never even modified..

Apparently they solved it by inserting
- Code:
onsubmit="return vB_Editor['text_editor'].prepare_submit(0,0)"
in the Posting_Body.. but where in that template?

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
Just found a new problem on our Forum. As I reported at the start of this Topic, and I think it's common knowledge now. Our Forum freezes when trying to PM, or reply to PM when using IE, but is OK when using Google Chrome, but know we have a photo post problem with Google Chrome. When you click Host an Image, instead of Browes appearing in the box, it says no file selected, select a file, you click on select a file, then host it, but when you click copy nothing happens ?. However in IE, the box appears as before, and says browes, and everything works. So at the moments we are PMing with Google Chrome, and PMing with IE. Thought I'd add this information to pass to the tech Guys, and help anyone else with similar problems. Also again for info, we can embed videos in Google Chrome, but not in IE
Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
Can't say that hitting the Switch Editor Mode button is a proper fix for the quote issues in WYSIWYG mode. Is there a real fix coming for this? This is a pretty standard basic function. Seems odd that even in BETA form, this issue would be "overlooked".

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
@Captain Hunk or whatever your name is. Reason is this is a Development issues as this is JavaScript it is a Design issue, Development is back end. Meaning PHP, mySQL, noSQL, and so forth. Anyways the codes I am providing are the fix for colors as stated by the ACTUAL creator of this code, I've been in contact with him talking back and forth. Getting results slowly, I can't wait around for FM Techs, rather I'll do the work quicker.
Now if I can have some test users as I have checked within the sceditor object to see the quote function. Here is a code-
Please let me know if this fixes your issues. As the Techs can automatically place this in the Constructor.
@Willyr sorry about that I got the line and the commas mixed up, sorry good thing you have the knowledge to try other things out!
That is the correct method of doing this, I'm not sure if this takes RGB and RGBA colors or not but someone can try, it does take both shorthand methods as well a hex6 colors.
Any other issues or whatever please ask me, I'm not afraid to delve into the coding. I can provide a way to get rid of certain buttons.
1st add any code inside the checkIf conditional like I have in both codes.
2nd learn the names of the buttons, if you check the class names they are like so sceditor-button-youtube so the name of this buttons is youtube, as we search for the command name.
3rd to remove add this script
That will remove those buttons in the instance of sceditor.
Now if I can have some test users as I have checked within the sceditor object to see the quote function. Here is a code-
- Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf= $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$.sceditor.commands.quote.exec(function (caller) {
var editor = this;
$.sceditor.command.get('quote')._dropDown(
editor,
caller,
function(author) {
var before = '<blockquote>',
end = '</blockquote>';
if(author !== '')
before = before + '<cite>' + author + '</cite>';
if(editor.getRangeHelper().selectedHtml() === "")
end = end+'<br/>';
editor.wysiwygEditorInsertHtml(before, end + '<br />');
}
);
});
}
});
Please let me know if this fixes your issues. As the Techs can automatically place this in the Constructor.
@Willyr sorry about that I got the line and the commas mixed up, sorry good thing you have the knowledge to try other things out!
- Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf = $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$.sceditor.defaultOptions.colors = "#000,#00ff00,#ff0000|#c3c3c3,#c0c0c0,#c4c8c6|orange,red,green";
}
});

I don't understand what you say!

How can I change it?
EDIT: this code
- Code:
my_setcookie('WYSIWYG_STATE', 0, true);

Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
You can set the inline CSS of the WYSIWYG editor with this
Then add CSS to Stylesheet for the Editor (not WYSIWYG)
- Code:
$(function() {
var checkIf = $('.sceditor-container');
if(checkIf.length){
$('#text_editor_textarea').data('sceditor').css('body { color: #ff0000; }');
}
});
Then add CSS to Stylesheet for the Editor (not WYSIWYG)
- Code:
.sceditor-container textarea{color:#FF0000!important}
Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor

Are you speaking to me @Kelly123? As the codes I provided if you want to use them you will go
ACP>MODULES>JAVASCRIPT MANAGEMENT (At the very bottom of page in ACP) and then click create new. Label it what you want and then mark it all pages. This will effect both regular reply and quick reply.

Kelly 123 I found you cant use embeded You Tube codes if your using Internet Explorer as your Browser, but you can if your using Google Chrome, and I should think Fire Fox. Not ideal I know, if like my members most use IE, but at least its a way round it untill there's a fix for IE
Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
If anyone is interested I do have a youtube Parser that you don't need any code just the url and it automatically changes it to a playable player?

Update on my above post. One of my members has been using Google Chrome to upload photos for some time. It's a different operation to uploading in IE, instead of browes you select file then your photo, click host, then copy, and paste the bottom of the three lines, then paste that into Insert Image box
Re: (Only Topic!) New Editor
Why hasn't the updated been used here?
If it has been then what's been done to keep this forum from falling apart ?
If not then why is everyone else's forum test subjects instead of just testing the update here first.
