In progress (Only Topic!) New Editor

Post by TWYLYGHT June 12th 2013, 3:34 pm

First topic message reminder :

Is there a way to opt of this new editor? If not is there a way to at least set the smiley's back to the old way. They are hard to see even with the mouse over feature. Any member we have with poor eye sight will not be able to use them. I ware glasses and it's hard for me to make head nor tails on the smileys.

Thanks in advance for a quick reply.

Edit:
A few solutions for the problems.

We should have option to back to old editor!
How can you guys just make decision like that and not give us options!

New editor is bad full of glitches and how can you force that to us!?
You made the board worse!

Our board uses a lot of images and borders and we cannot use border s in topics system anymore!
Even basic copy/paste is not working as before!

Where do you change the default text color? My background is black, and the default text color is black. I want the text to be set to a specific color as soon as you start typing. Do not tell me that users need to change it themselves. I need it to be default.

This is not necessary to post again, it was already said in the above post. please do not re-post nonsense.

Have you tried looking in your colors list to see if that works.

kirk,

I did try changing the colors, but this does not work. This is my forum: http://kingdoms.heavenforum.org/t945-forum-changes

The new editor seems to have override all the color settings I had set up. So I need some kind of code to re-override it.

Hi all that have the Quote problem,

Here is a way around the problem but it's only a temporary fix until the tech's fix it.

This is a Fix gave to the members on the french forum that is working on my forum really well
I would add this is not a full fix and may not work for everyone.

Step 1
ACP  (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12Modules Tab (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12  (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Html HTML & JAVASCRIPT (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12Javascript codes management (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12

Step 2
Enable Javascript code management :(Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12 YES
(Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12Make a new Javascript
Title : Name it quote bug or what ever you wish
Placement : All pages
Put this code :

Code:
$(function () {
        if (!$.sceditor) return;
        $.sceditor.plugins.bbcode.bbcodes.quote.html = function (token, attrs, content) {
        if (typeof attrs.defaultattr !== "undefined") content = '<cite>' + attrs.defaultattr + '</cite>' + content;
        return '<br /><blockquote>' + content + '</blockquote><br />';
        };
        });

Then (Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 Arrow_12Save

Now test to see if this has worked

Hello,
This bug is already reported to out tech's and they are dealing with it.
There is a way around this that you may want to use for now until the bug has been fixed,
The step is easy,
When you click the quote button on your forum you should see your Quoted post in a box at the top of the editor.
To start typing you will need to click here

(Only Topic!) New Editor - Page 21 112a10

once you have clicked there you will then have the code "/quote
" at the end of that is where you should enter your text  once you have typed 2 or 3 letters lick that icon again and you can carry on typing again

I hope this helps you until we can get the bug fixed.

Your Friendly Helper Ape Neutral

The easiest fix I found with the Quote is to Switch Editor Mode as described above and just click next to the end quote on the same line. Then hit your Enter key to create space for a new paragraph, Hit your Enter key twice if you want some extra space when typing.

Sorry to bring up the PM issue again but, I do have members fussing about it.

I can read the pms. I cannot create a new pm or reply to a pm. When I click reply or new pm It takes forever to load the edit box. When the edit box appears it is trying to load still and I have an egg timer, it will not let me type anything it just sits there and there is nothing I can do except to exit the Browser.

It says on the status bar that it is downloading 12 images http:/illweb.com/rsc/70/frm/sceed/minifield themes/fanfanfan.png

I have told our members to be patient as the techs here are working on all the bugs and will fix things asap.

So all my guys are really screwed right now.(www.gravitypirates.com). Really hopping this gets fixed soon. Please provide temp help if you can. New editor is kinda evil.lol

Yeah that code I posted fixes the background color of the quoted posts, I noticed on your forum posts that were quotes had a white background with lime green text and is barely readable.

I can fix your text editor background quote color if I can figure out how to quote someone. I see your forum is open for guests to post but I don't see an option to quote.

Has anyone reporting shrinking/growing text boxes?  I seem to have this issue in Explorer where the editor text box starts shrinking (bottom to top) as soon as it loads.  I can stop it by grabbing the resizer in the bottom right corner and manually changing the size.  If I start a PM window, the text box starts growing (top to bottom).

I haven't seen this reported elsewhere.  Any ideas?

I am sooo desperate.  I have had several top posting members quit because of the new editor.   I do not have the editting bar for "making new topic" or  "quoting"   .  We only have it for replying.  Some members don't even have it for that.  I can not do the changes to the templates because I dont have all the ones that they say to change.  Plus, I do not know what I am doing.   Please help me. I have phpbb2   our URL is    http://www.dinardaily.net/
