Profile award image position

Post by Sabbaticus on Tue Jun 25, 2013 10:22 am

Hi everyone

I would like to add award images in post profiles for specific members, the problem is I have css styling for each profile field and so the badges sit inside these which I do not want. I would like them to be separate and below all the profile fields, centered, and be able to do more than one.

Here is an example of what it's doing:

And here is an example of the desired result:

I do believe that the images are done with profile fields in the 2nd image , but manage to not sit inside the styling for profile fields.
I am comfortable with doing template editing if it requires that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smile

Hmm if I'm sure there's a Css code for it to reposition the way you like but then again search
"Profile award"

Here you go candy. This is just a topic I posted in. You can see the awards below my other details. I want them to be below the profile details, and not inside the css styling that the rest of the details are in (like in the 2nd image of my topic).

I did... there are 2 awards, both are diamond images with 'league' written on it...

EDIT: Argh, sorry my bad. The 2 profile fields were set to 'Members'. I've set it to guest now.

You will need to edit the templates, yes.

What do I need to do in templates Ultron? At the moment, the {postrow.displayed.profile_field.CONTENT} is inside a div class that I created, which is styled to give the blocks.

You want them to appear outside of the block, right?

Yes. I want all my profile details to be styled in the div, but I want the custom profile fields I created (the award images) to NOT be inside the blocks like the other profile details. Just like in the example I gave in the opening post.

Hello , create a new javascript and add that

Code:
$(function() {
$('.post:contains(Admin)').addClass('user');
$('.post_avatar_outer').after('<div id="image"><img src="LINK"></div>');
});

Replace Admin with your name and who had the image and link with image link , only one , ok ,you will need to create new javascript for any user ,other way don't know because I can't see your images if you want to add more images you will do something like that

Code:
$(function() {
$('.post:contains(Admin)').addClass('user');
$('.post_avatar_outer').after('<div id="image"><img src="IMG LINK"><img src="IMG LINK"><img src="IMG LINK"></div>');
});

Good luck , and replace Admin any time with user name like jaques for exemple and if had and !@#$%^&* put and them Smile

Are you using a certain pattern to name the fields after?

I could write some generic JS which doesn't rely on multiple names you have to input, but that'd only work in the names of the fields are very similar so I can match them with a RegExp.

@candy I updated the profile field to Guests, so you should be able to see them now.
I tried the code, it put an image in every single user's profile, but in the wrong place. I did put my name in place of Admin.

@Ultron if it's possible for some js code to just move this specific profile field outside of styled div, and center it.

Here is an exact example of what I'm trying to do...

I dont see , sorry , try now :
Code:
$(function() {
$('.post:contains(Antei)').addClass('user');
$('.post_avatar_inner').after('<div id="image"><img src="http://i.stack.imgur.com/nGCYr.jpg?s=32&g=1"></div>');
});

I used "Antei" name for exemple and a randomly image.

Code:
$(function() {

$('.post_avatar_inner').after('<div id="image" style="padding:20px;"><img src="http://i.stack.imgur.com/nGCYr.jpg?s=32&g=1"></div>');
});
It's impossible in other way , I really can't if I try , can't move the image .

Still showing up for all users, and pushing the stroke up. I did PM the guy who did what I'm trying to do here.

Here is that thread if it helps any: http://help.forumotion.com/t124094-how-to-change-profile-message-an-image-to-side-profile-mesage#825826

Is it possible to just hide the styling for a specific profile field, in this case the award?

I shall consult Amy Cool about this, I know what you're referring to and I know how she did it, but I don't know which template she edited for it.

Would it not be: Templates > General > viewtopic_body?

That's where all post details are, including profile fields in messages.

Well I don't know about the box behind the image but as for wanting the image centered I think I can get you the desired result... Try reading my response to this;

http://help.forumotion.com/t124753-awards-system#831356

It is basically a new take on the award system. Requires no Javascript and no CSS and I think it may help...

Centering is not the problem. I want an award as a profile field (so that I can easily assign awards to members), but my profile fields are styled. I want to make the style for this specific profile field disappear. Either that or a way to display a specific profile field, that way I can simply place it after and it won't be automatically styled like the rest.

At least that's what I think would be the best way to go about this.

Bump...

It can't be that difficult? Surely there's a way to display a specific profile field, that way I can put it on it's own and not be styled like the rest...
