Hello. I wanted to ask if I can search for a specific ip.

Long story short my mods found an ip address on a different website selling stolen art and we are wondering if the person who has that specific ip is a member of our forum. Is there any way to see if a member of our forum owns that ip address?

See if this helps.
Users & groups>Users>Ban Control
Ban an Ip address tab
Search for that user & check the IP's from where he posted. You can match the IP's there.

You'll have to also consider that two or more users could share the same posting IP and not only that but they could be using the same proxy among other things. So I wouldn't always trust the it could be the same person for just a basic IP. I'd do searches and match providers and other information.

The problem is i dont know the persons username. I know only the IP.

I could simply ban the ip and now that you mentioned it....what is proxy? I have no idea xD

To put it into simple terms a proxy hides all your basic online information that can be found. It hides your IP address and produces a false one.

It does have other benefits but quite frankly I don't know what they are Razz
