I think it would be a good idea if we had more ways to format/style usernames than simply colorizing names for different groups. While having different colors is nice, it might be nice if we could also italicize names and have other options. What does everyone think? This is a feature I'd like to see.

THis option is already available through coding. =) This tutorial works for groups, and you can also do similar coding for individual usernames.

Yes, what Leah mentioned above, all you are asking for can be done right through the stylesheet. Though I believe you may mean automatically bold/oblique/italic a name through the group colorization if I'm correct?

Currently the best way to do so is through CSS utilizing a link selector:

a[href="/u1"]

If you'd like a reference for properties you could try this along with the tutorials.
