Topic Prefixes Empty Topic Prefixes

Post by collinsexton June 28th 2013, 9:21 pm

Hello all,

I have a suggestion for all Forumotion forums, and that is topic prefixes. I saw this great feature on TAZ, and I thought it would be great to implement on Forumotion forums.

Here is a screenshot:
Topic Prefixes Untitl10

Basically, the user selects a topic prefix (defined by the admins) and types his or her message. When the message is posted, the prefix is shown in bold before the user's title. I think that this is a great idea. We have a feature sort of like this, and that's the [solved] prefix, the one and only non-customizable prefix. I think it's a brilliant idea! What do you think?

As long as there is a option to disable it for your forum or have it available only for certain topics, i vote yes.

We already have an ongoing suggestion for this:

https://help.forumotion.com/t44221-topic-prefix?highlight=Topic+Prefix

And we already can do this with coding but sadly the instructions are in Spanish:

Thanks! Maybe I can get in contact with Base about translating that and posting it here. Wink

Although I don't think I'd use it, this sounds useful. If you enable it, make it possible to not show the popup with an admin option please. Smile

If this is added, it would be nice to have the able to have customized prefixes, too.

Thanks for your comments. I translated the tutorial that Derri mentioned above that was in Spanish, and then followed it, but it didn't work. I don't know if i was for a different board version, or for the previous text editor, but it didn't work at all. I went to the Portuguese version and translated it, but the instructions were the same. The tutorial didn't say it was for a specific board version, but the screenshot showed the previous editor, so maybe there were conflicts or something. But thanks again for you comments. thumright
