table indenting the rest of the forum.

Post by fniwolfpacks on July 10th 2013, 11:44 pm

I made a table, and now it "indents" the post and the post above it to the right instead of staying in the same place. here is an image of what I mean:

below is the code of the table.

Code:
[table][tr][td][table class="class" align="center" bgcolor="#333333" border="2" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2" width="486"][tr][td]<table class="" align="center" borderColor=#000000 cellSpacing=4 cellPadding=4 width=513 bgColor=#990000[/color] border=12><tr><td align=center>
[center]
the dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.

</TD></TR></TABLE>[/center]
</TD></TR></TABLE>[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]
[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]

[/center]

Why are some of the td's and tr's capitalized and some are not?

I borrowed this table from someone else, and made my own adjustments (mainly the color and border widths).

it isn't my signature. it's in a regular reply to the topic, but because of the table, it causes that reply and the ones above it to be shifted to the right, instead of remaining where it is. here are a couple of screenshots and the link to the thread:

^ this is what the rest of the forum looks like. it's aligned to the left, hugging the black border.

^ but this is what happens when the table, and the posts above it, have been made. it's shifted to the right (what I've been saying is "indented", as it would be in a paragraph)

here is the link to the thread:http://fniwp.forumotion.net/t645-a-table-perhaps-3

thank you so much for your help and patience. hopefully we can figure out what needs to be fixed.

Code:
<table class="" align="center" borderColor=#000000 cellSpacing=32 cellPadding=8 width=813 bgColor=#0cc99[/color] border=22><tr><td align=center>
the dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.

Try this code:
Code:
[table][tr][td]
[table class="class" align="center" bgcolor="#333333" border="2" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2" width="486"][tr][td]<table class="" align="center" borderColor=#000000 cellSpacing=4 cellPadding=4 width=513 bgColor=#990000[/color] border=12><tr><td align=center>

the dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.

  </TD></TR></TABLE></center>
 </TD></TR></TABLE>[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]
 [/td]
[/tr]
[/table]
