Right so you want to buy a domain name?

Admin Control Panel --> Misc --> Spend Credits --> Domain --> Enter the domain you wish to buy --> Purchase it

You won't loose any forum content/data, the most you'll loose is your Search Rankings but this comes all the time when you change your forum domain address.
