Solved forum rights classification

Post by REDDWOLF22 August 16th 2013, 4:38 am

was wondering if there was any way when giving rights like in the pic below (and other places) there is a way to differentiate the members into other categories. an example of what im talking about is if in a gaming clan there are members and registered users but the members option just blankets all them into one group as it is now and i need it to be a little more discerning of what constitutes a member

Hi,

So you want to create forums for only some members, but only those members are able to view this board, correct? If so, create different groups and edit their permissions.

Which navigation buttons are you speaking of? The ones that are default or new ones that you will be creating?

well i already created some of them like a members button that only shows clan members but would like it to only be visible to members and above not registered users.

as i have it now it redirects to a post of members names but makes the site look shoddy and would prefer to direct it to the members group page

Is your forum URL the one on your profile? If so, please provide an account that I can use to see the navigation button that you're speaking of, thank you. Also, I don't quite understand this part:
as i have it now it redirects to a post of members names but makes the site look shoddy and would prefer to direct it to the members group page

Well, the issue is that you cannot redirect them to all of the groups at once. However, your only solution would be is creating an HTML page, something like this:

the problem is not the redirect

the problem is in the pic in the first post how it only has the 4 choices for privileges

i need the members option btoken down into specific groups like members, registered users, etc.

the borad coverage of members covers too many groups of users

You cannot brake the options down into seperate groups, mate. Those are your only options given. Sorry.
