What to do when a Forum's Staff breaks their own rules.

Post by Gazimu on August 6th 2013, 1:52 am

So, there's a forum I've been on for a long time, and it used to be great, but now there are a lot of problems with it, I went to use the report abuse option on the site thinking It'd send to a Forummotion Moderator, but then read it sends to the site Administration, which doesn't help because they're the problem I was reporting. Here's what I had written for Reporting Abuse:

The staff of this site(The Administration Team in particular) is known to have been rude and abusive to members, obsessed with having power and being poor staff members for the forum's health. Their actions have made many members leave the site because of the hurtful actions and abuse.

The staff also fails to follow rules they themselves made for the site. The following rules have been broken either on chat, in Private Messaging or in the forums themselves by members of staff and former members of staff when they were on staff:

From the Site Rules:

Rules 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10.

From the Chatbox Rules:

Rules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and Site Rules mentioned above(These being every rule on the Chatbox Rules topic.)

I ask that you look into this issue as it is quite serious and has being going on for over a year. This forum has a great community and does not deserve to have such unworthy staff abusing it.

The site is Link Removed , is there anything that can be done about it?

If I am correct the abuse goes to the head administrator I had the same problem with my administration team and I ended up demoting them and some of them were banned for a week and none of them got there power back. But there is nothing really you can do but if its the administrators the ones being rude it's not going to go far. I am going to join the forum and see where I go and give feedback soon.

The Head Admin is not active on the forum, it's just the founder, so that wouldn't help the situation.

I can't kick them off staff or ban them. I don't have that power.

If I did I wouldn't have come here, would I?

There is really nothing you can do about this issue.  The founder has the right hire and fire staff members.  This is something that does not break the Terms of Service.  If it is a situation that is out of control, you could just leave the forum.

Since this is not a support issue/question, the topic will be locked.

OMG...I used to be a member on that site. Then, Percy Jackson went lame and I quit the site.

But...to the pressing matter at hand. If you are just a member and don't have any admin abilities and if you are disatisfied with the staff. I suggest you just leave the site. Look elsewhere, I am sure that site isn't the only Percy Jackson site around forumotion.
