Solved Administrator post background color

Post by SerahNoel on August 7th 2013, 6:06 pm

I think it's really cool how the staff on this forum have an orange background to their posts, and I'd like to be able to set the post background colors like that.

Is there a code or something for it? I checked the Colors area of the administration panel and I did not see anywhere where it changed the administrator post background color.

Thank you for the code, however it did not work on my forum. I am unsure why this is. Is Javascript the only way to change the administrator post color?

The reason why the JavaScript code did not work is that there needs to be a code around the rank titles and a code added to the CSS. Also the code should not have the color tags in it.

I do not understand, I am not very good at coding and forumotion was the first time I've been introduced to using codes to manage a website.

So are you saying the rank names need a code implemented along with a CSS code?

Are you using phpBB 2?

I believe the codes to achieve this will not work on phpBB 2.

Okay, I kind of still want this so I will ask this.

How does changing your forum version affect the forum? will it rearrange anything important? I like the structure of my forum currently, and I am afraid changing it might mess things up

It will erase your customized CSS. Some JavaScripts will not work because they are specific to one forum version only. The templates will also be changed. I would not change forum versions just to add this code.

Alright thank you! we have a ton of CSS codes so I don't think it is a good idea to change versions.

I'll mark this as solved, thank you for answering my questions.
