Solved Border code / popup/startpage html/scroll bar

Post by Dustfire on August 7th 2013, 8:57 pm

Herro there, I'm a total derp at coding and right now I'm trying coding and making a lay-out seriously for the first time. I used a pre-made template so I have a complete CSS template, but I can't find anything in it/derp
I have a few questions; some very stupid (So sorry) and some.. maybe harder.

1) My forum has thick, black borders. I really want thin borders just like the outline of the whole forum or one pixel thicker. I can't seem to find where the code for this is.

To be honest, I can't find almost anything. There are like 10,000 color codes and I don't know which one is of what part of the text on the forum, ect. Maybe there is someone who wants to help me with little things in the coding so I can at least get the colors right?

Forum: Layout test site

2) Is it possible to make a seperate page with a video (Youtube) showing and a link to proceed to the forum,
or is the same thing possible in some sort of pop-up (which darkens the rest of the site)
Fancy drawn idea:

 3) I have this scroll bar at the upside of the forum, but if I put in more text, it makes a new rule, and I don't want that. How to change that? ;-;

Thanks a lot <3

1. CSS:
Code:
.forumline {
border: 0px #000 solid !important;
}

2. Create a custom HTML Page, how?
- Go to ACP > Modules > HTML and JS Management > HTML Management >AddCreate new HTML Page: (Change the ff. settings)
--Do you wish to use your forum header and footer: No
--Use this page as homepage: Yes

Then put the full html code on the HTML source part, with the image/video, anything you want to put Smile.

3. I didn't get it. Can you explain it more? Very Happy

Thanks for the info!

And for 3), I mean directly under the banner, the part with the scrolling text? If I put more text there, it will create another line so the added text will be under the text I have put there now. Is there a way to make it possible to add more text without putting it under this line?

Thanks a lot! The scroll bar/forum border things totally worked!

Another question: I want to add widgets to my forum but the whole forum gets totally messed up when I try to do that. I want the widgets to be next to my forum at the right side, but that doesn't work. I think there's something wrong with the CSS coding but I don't know what ;-; Anyone who can find it/clean up the CSS a little on a test account?

When you add forum widgets, the forum section is shorten so the widgets can fit. Try changing the forum's width.

Hmm. Now it looks kinda fine O>O
Yesterday when I put the widgets on almost the whole layout reset to the standard silver one.

I do have a problem: I can't change the width of the column. Whatever I enter , 40px or 80px, it just flips back to 180 px.

Also, how do I add space between the forum and the widgets (right now it just sticks on the forum)? Thanks!

The lowest number it can be set to is 180px. You should see two boxes for spacing: between widgets & forum and widgets & widgets.

Wait, you mean '' Space between columns''?
Because if I do that the forum gets squeezed. I just need it go go 20px or so to the right ;-;
