Re: Reputation Points Count
if you mean the points they receive from posting then all you have to do is go into
acp - modules - then scroll down to where the points section is and the very last option is points donation

Re: Reputation Points Count
No I said "Reputation" points, that is not the same as points for posting. Reputation points come from members voting positive or negative for your posts, and from the "Thanks" system.
Re: Reputation Points Count
Donating reputation like points isn't really possible however, there is something you could do. You could temporally create a new forum called 'Reputation Donation' or whatever you want lol. Create a group specifically for this forum, and make sure that group and the Administrators are the only ones that can see it, then add this user to the group and tell them to open/reply to a topic in there. Now before you give them a positive vote go to..
Admin Panel > Modules > Points and reputation > Reputation > Reputation Management tab
Find your newly created 'Reputation Donation' forum and modify the amount of rep received for a positive vote. Once you're finished save, and go rep+ the users post. When you're finished do whatever you want with the Rep forum and group.
Also if users are being unfairly treated on your forum with negative votes I think you should consider disabling them. Users sometimes tend to misuse those features.

Re: Reputation Points Count
Thats a good idea about temporarily changing the amount for a vote, however I don't see any reason to create a new forum just for that, why not change the amount then go real fast to the person you want to give the points to and click the vote button then go back and change the amount for each vote back to the amount it was?
Re: Reputation Points Count
You could also do it that way, I was just giving an example in case you have a really active forum.
Re: Reputation Points Count
I don't think you can have a different vote point amount for a particular forum, so because of that I don't see the advantage in creating a new forum section. You see my point?
Re: Reputation Points Count
How about using this - http://www.avacweb.com/t195-9-a-new-like-vote-system , which members can only give positive votes.

Re: Reputation Points Count
Actually you can add different Rep values to the forums, the field at the top is if you just want to quickly set the amount for all your forums without going through each one, one by one. Say if you have an Archive forum, that would be an ideal place to apply your rep value, if that user has a post in there. Other than that just pick a forum you'll feel comfortable with.runawayhorses wrote:I don't think you can have a different vote point amount for a particular forum, so because of that I don't see the advantage in creating a new forum section. Re: Reputation Points Count
Yes you're right I forgot you can change the point value for each forum, of course you can I set mine a few years ago. Well I chose one forum the member posted in and upped the amount by 100 points and then voted for them, and it indeed added the 100 points I wanted to give them, then I set that forum points value back to what it was, which is the same for all the forum sections.
So that you so much for your idea it worked great, this is solved.
