Why did YOU chose forumotion, over some other companies?

I myself, chose forumotion over other companies because of:
The simplicity of their admin panel,
Many friends recommendation (and I recommend forumotion now myself)
The amount of support offered here on the support forum, coinciding with the time it takes to receive support.

We chose forumotion for our forum because.
1. No ads, yea right since been compulsory added.
2. Good chatbox.
3. Thought they were professionals.
4. Ease of use.

I experimented with quite alot of free forum hosts. And I can comfortably say, that ForuMotion came off the best, by a long way.

The thing that is the main standout for me, as Darren said, would have to be the simplicity of the administration panel.

The other thing would have to be, for one free forum host, you can choose of one of four themes for your forum. Phpbb2, Phpbb3, PunBB, & Invision.

There would be more things, but i'd be sitting here all day.

I chose forumotion because I thought:

-They provided good support
-They have frequent updates
-They have a non cut down version of phpbb
-We can remove the footer!! [as it is not stated in the TOS! (damn!)]

And because it's free and didn't know of other hosts then.

coming from another board provider, which have huge and very fast tec.support but very poor updates...

first of all it's a phpbb based board which is very important for me, great gallery feature and many custom stuffs, custom domain, consistant updates... these are all great points to hang with fm i think.

I've got many reasons why I chose Forumotion:

• Free
• Ease of use
• Hardly any advertisements
• Fast and stable
• Excellent service
• Cool skins
• Great support community
• Ability to choose between versions (phpBB 2, phpBB 3, Invision and punBB)

Thanks a lot Forumotion! Very Happy

first... thanks merlinz... and amen Doctor Inferno
I also see kilsek and his old sarcastic comments.

I choose forumotion because...
1) I have tried many different providers... some paid ,some free... this one just offers more.
2) You can customize your theme free of charge. Any one can do it. On other sites you have to choose a from preset themes that many other people use, and you don't really have maneuverability in customizing the themes unless you know mySQL , CSS and html ... well maybe not html but you gotta have the basics of mySQl to even reach the forum display options. correct me if I'm wrong.
3) ACP is easy and looks nice.
4) forumotion is a growing service provider.
5) Offers phpbb2... 3, punBB and now IPB.
6) Support... I'm not going to judge. If it weren't offered this site wouldn't exist.

any many more... but when i first started with forumotion... it was the pure simplicity of the forum and admin panel... back in the day when there wasn't any modifications for your forum... when only the forum counted... not additions to it.

Forumotion was on the top of the results so I clicked.

The features are nice.
ACP is very simple and easy.
Great themes available.
Customizable.

I remember the no additions then came un-needed alterations on the acp.
On the jcink ipb boards its easy to access your css as with a lot of real ipb boards.

lol, Jalokim.. Kilsek hadn't commented prior to you, so you may have been referring to either john waller or my sarcastic comments. Razz I see I must be well on my way to a serious warning if I'm sounding like Kilsek. Very Happy

I agree with john waller.. jcink is an absolute dream board for those that know anything about coding, as the things one can do to alter the appearance of their board on jcink is great. Unfortunately, at the time I tried jcink I didn't know anything and chose FM because of the ease of use of the ACP. Now.. if only we were allowed to have our databases, I'd be back to jcink tomorrow. (That's giving me time to try and remember my admin password on the jcink board.)

Easy to use compared to other formats.
Has a lot of things that other formats do not have.
Admin panel easier to use.
Moderation buttons easier to use and has more compared to other formats.

W O W
I never thought that this many users could have such a vast reasons to chose forumotion, over other service provider's that provide a vast array of 'other features'

I myself have done many trial and rejection's or other free hosts, and have done some fairly over priced forum's too, but they still don't meet this quality.

Dont get me wrong the reason's on my 1st post and this post are not the full complete set of reaon's but just a few

To piss typlo off and make him hate me!

I think I succeeded!

LOL

mwii Why do I get the feeling of complete agree-ance for?

I think this thread could be of some use for the staff of ForuMotion to look over to find what users actually like about their service.

@ darren thats because this thread is posted on forumotion... its pretty obvious that the comments will be positive...
*kilsek doesn't count

I visited the freeinvision support forum... or something like that ... and I read a thread called FM or freeinvision ... and the comments were opposite to what is written here... its like the posts kilsek writes...

all about the staff being pathetic and that there are no updates.

I have friends paying for domains with much less versatility than you can find here.
