How to write post with css ?

Post by Monikita on Sun Aug 18, 2013 7:03 am

Hey guys,
so I have this little problem that I will try to explain to you ~

I've seen an amazing forum that attracted me with its interesting codes in posts~
There is a code like this:
Code:
<center><div class="v2titlelink"><span class="v2cloverlink">♣</span> <span class="v2fondtitlelink">[i]TITLE[/i]</span> <span class="v2cloverlink">♣</span></div></center>

[table][tr][td]<div class="picons" style="background-image: url('ICON100x100');"></div>[/td][td]<div class="v2kadrlink"><div class="v2intitullink">intitulé du lien</div><div class="v2textlink">« BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH »</div><div class="v2namelink">[i]PRENOM + NOM[/i]</div>[/td][/tr][/table]

[table][tr][td]<div class="v2kadrlink"><div class="v2intitullink">intitulé du lien</div><div class="v2textlink">« BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH »</div><div class="v2namelink">[i]PRENOM + NOM[/i]</div>[/td][td]<div class="picons" style="background-image: url('ICON100x100');"></div>[/td][/tr][/table]
and it gives this kind of a result:

But when I try using this kind of writing in my own forum I don't get that result, there is only ruined version of the code ;(
So I was wondering, is it possible to make this result in my forum ? If yes, then how ? Do I need to instal something or maybe write some kind of css coding ?
Please, if you know what to do, I would be really thankful if you could help me .

The problem is because you don't have HTML activated , go in Administration Panel -> General -> Messages & E-Mails -> Configuration -> Allow HTML : YES

Now , you need to go in Profile -> Preferences -> Allow HTML : Yes

Note : Now , who register will have html automaticaly activated , if you have more members , they don't have that active . Wink

You're missing the CSS, mate.

Please check this out http://help.forumotion.com/t87870-notice-using-css-and-table

That should be similar except with a different CSS?

Hi Monikita,

Looking at the image you provided I was able to recreate the style somewhat using inline CSS. Until we have a test account this should suffice:
Code:
<div style="background-color:#EBDEBE;padding:30px;"><center><span style="color:#789C5F;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #789C5F;font-size:24px;">♣</span> <span style="color:#fff;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #000;font-size:36px;font-family: TimesNewRoman, Times, Baskerville, Georgia, serif;background-image:url('http://i72.servimg.com/u/f72/18/45/41/65/ex16.png');background-repeat:no-repeat;">[i]TITLE[/i]</span> <span style="color:#789C5F;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #789C5F;font-size:24px;\">♣</span></center>

[table][tr][td]<div style="border:2px solid #C1B28B;box-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C1B28B;width:130px;height:130px;border-radius:70px;margin-right:10px;background-color:#EBDEBE;"></div>[/td]
[td]<div style="width:500px;border:2px solid #C1B28B;box-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C1B28B;background-color:#F2E6CC;border-radius:80px;padding:20px;"><div style="color:#C8B281;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C8B281;font-family: TimesNewRoman, Times, Baskerville, Georgia, serif;font-size:14px;text-align:center;font-weight:bold;">intitulé du lien</div><div style="margin:auto;width:400px;height:100px;overflow:scroll;overflow-x:hidden;">« BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH »</div><div style="color:#95AB7C;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #95AB7C;text-align:center;font-family: TimesNewRoman, Times, Baskerville, Georgia, serif;font-size:18px;font-weight:bold;">[i]PRENOM + NOM[/i]</div>[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]

[table][tr][td]<div style="width:500px;border:2px solid #C1B28B;box-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C1B28B;background-color:#F2E6CC;border-radius:80px;padding:20px;"><div style="color:#C8B281;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C8B281;font-family: TimesNewRoman, Times, Baskerville, Georgia, serif;font-size:14px;text-align:center;font-weight:bold;">intitulé du lien</div><div style="margin:auto;width:400px;height:100px;overflow:scroll;overflow-x:hidden;">« BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH »</div><div style="color:#95AB7C;text-shadow:0px 0px 6px #95AB7C;text-align:center;font-family: TimesNewRoman, Times, Baskerville, Georgia, serif;font-size:18px;font-weight:bold;">[i]PRENOM + NOM[/i]</div>[/td]
[td]<div style="border:2px solid #C1B28B;box-shadow:0px 0px 6px #C1B28B;width:150px;width:130px;height:130px;border-radius:70px;margin-left:10px;background-color:#EBDEBE;"></div>[/td]
[/tr]
[/table]
</div>
For example see this: http://royaumedescieux.forumotion.com/t33-inline-example#51

If anyone wants they can take the inline CSS out for the external stylesheet. That way you can use class names instead if you will be using it a lot.

Edited: Updated overall code to increase similarity
