Not All Members Can View Pictures, Avatars or Smiles
The title says it all. Â We are a new, inexperienced forum that is not open for all members yet. Â Just admin and mods at the moment. Â We do know if some can't view pics at the moment, some others won't as well, and we want the problem solved before we launch. Â
Advice please?!
Advice please?!

Hello kimwriter75,
To modify the permissions of your forum go to..
Admin Panel > General > Forum > Categories and forums
Click the permissions icon() to edit a forums permissions. To be quick you should modify the permissions in the image below allowing either 'all' or 'members' to view images/links. Be sure to save your changes after you are done, do note this will only apply to the forum you're modifying.

Thank you, Seth.
That is not the specific issue as said user is an admin, and that it only applies to the imgfast images hosted by the site, such as avatars and custom smileys. Pictures posted with bbcode in the forums shows up just fine.

Hmm...that's odd can you provide an image of what these users see? I believe it may be the host from what you're saying, but until I see an Image of the issue I'm not sure.

Try switching the image host for those images to a different one like: servimg, imgur, tinypic, ect.. and see if that is the problem.
Re: Not All Members Can View Pictures, Avatars or Smiles
It has nothing to do with image hosting.

If you say. We'll need someone else to handle this then, since I am out of ideas on what could be causing this, sorry.

No. I mean the image's URL, not a screenshot.

Do you mean our avatars, smilies or something else? The user with the problem is not available at the moment as she is in Europe and not awake at this time.

So this is only happening to just one member?

Re: Not All Members Can View Pictures, Avatars or Smiles
So far, yes, but as of now, we have a total number of 8 users since we are in the process of setting the forum up.
If you are talking about the urls to the pics that are not showing up, here are a few examples:
https://2img.net/u/2416/55/68/22/avatars/4-49.jpg
https://2img.net/u/2416/55/68/22/avatars/8-83.jpg
https://2img.net/u/2416/55/68/22/smiles/1586611999.gif
As far as the custom smileys go, they show up in the back end smiley panel, but not when in use on the front end forums.
Seth, you mention switching to another image host, how can we do that for the forum? I can't seem to find the option to use another host for the pics that are uploaded to the site.

Have you tried using a different browser? It could be that your browser may be blocking the images from that host. When I mentioned switching hosts, I mean temporarily to see if that is the issue. Try switching the host of the images that do not display to that of https://servimg.com/ and see if they will be visible. If its the forums issue the images will usually show as..this: https://i.servimg.com/u/f81/15/62/32/35/ex11.jpg

Have tried with a different browser, same result.
The issue is not consistant - every now and then the images show up fine, before they disappear again.

Re: Not All Members Can View Pictures, Avatars or Smiles
If that's the case then it may be an issue with your browser/internet security. I'd recommend waiting until the Administrator tries a different host to see if that's the problem.
Re: Not All Members Can View Pictures, Avatars or Smiles
I think this topic may be solved.
Another thing has arose about the Navbar. I've searched the forum and still unsure how to solve it. Should I start a new topic or ask my question here? Also, I switched my forum version to PunBB. Will try to change that in my profile.

You're welcome.kimwriter75 wrote:Thanks Seth! Any suggestions where? Should I try coding?
If your question deals with an issue with codes i.e. CSS, HTML, or Javascript, then yes.
