Yes the Admin has the ability to delete your posts, but they are not obliged to.

he is right if its not personal and notthreating to the forum or anything else he can do what he wants but he needs to credit you by law thats a true thing called "Attributing" under CA-SA-BYrunawayhorses wrote:Yes the Admin has the ability to delete your posts, but they are not obliged to.

No, they don't need to credit anyone, the posts are made with userids that the member created when they joined, those names are not legally binding. All the recognition they get is the name under the avatar, and the admin can delete that too if he wants. You have no rights to your posts.
See how fast you get thrown out of court trying to make a judge hear your case that you have posts on a forum without the userid name you typed in when you joined on them.. lmao

Under Forumotion terms of service, if a member requests that their account be deleted the admin has to oblige but he does not have to remove their posts. When an account is deleted that ex-members posts then appear under the name of Guest and all the profile is deleted. if the admin has changed your username and removed all your profile information. Then you are no longer connected to that account. And he does not have to delete your posts unless they have any personal information in them. Though the admin can simply remove any personal information or quotes in posts under your old username himself. So no one reading the posts would know it was the old user.

I need to understand this. If a member wants his/her account deleted, I as an administrator am obligated to go through the last 5 years of their postings removing any personal information that they willingly posted under their username ?

Hello !
Why about taking a rule to avoid members to post personal information ?
What if i posted my email in my current post ?
A Foromotion staff member should edit it to remove my personal info.
As administrators, we are legally forced to remove all personal info if users make a request ! So i think it is better for us to remove those personal infos as soon as they are posted instead of waiting some users to ask us to do it several years later.

They don't allow you to post your email address on this forum. FM staff will remove it if you do.Neptune wrote:Why about taking a rule to avoid members to post personal information ?

Of course.
Was just an example. We need to do the same on our boards in order to never have to remove those personal infos later
