Hi Very Happy

Hmm... I personlly think that the V1 is better. I don't like the white layer below the text to be honest. Also, on V2, make the green layer a bit stronger because you can still see a shade of blue but if that's what you are aiming for, then I don't mind.

You keep getting better, me likey thumleft

8/10, mate, good job!

I like V2 better, the emboss stuff is a bit sharp, the sides are bit choppy the + sign is bend and some buttons looks bend because of the sign. good job!. 7/10

The small icons are blended since they are resized to small size.
And lol I did not use any emboss stuff and neither sharpening etc Laughing
the sides are just untouched normal rounded rectangle Razz Razz
Thanks for comment anyways ^^

V2 looks really good; it seems sharper. For the used thanks button, have you considered lowering its opacity instead of changing its color ? That always seems to work really well. KIU thumleft

Nice job on these!
3 things I'd change;
  • Lower the opacity of the stroke, it's a little to dark
  • Center the text horizontally
  • I'd get rid of the emboss/bevel effect around the text as the dark shadow makes the text look blurry. Use a white drop shadow to make the text pop off of the button. Just be sure to lower the opacity so that it doesn't look to harsh on the eyes.

A complete theme set (navbar and all buttons) of Mac Os style would be cool. Here's tutorials for making Mac related buttons, etc.
You're doing great, keep it up..

Wow! That link was awesome with so much to learn, I'll make a full Mac theme hopefully in future ^^ Currently im stuffed with works irl so hopefully by the end of april or something I would make it! Very Happy

And im like really confused, I did not use any bevel/emboss effect in any way :/
I have lowered the stroke opacity in v2 I believe..and text is centered too, please explain a bit more Smile

Mac Os Style Buttons Quotes10

  • As you can see in the blown up pic, the dark shadow around part of the text along with the white shadow, it looks like you used an outer bevel. If not you must of used a white drop shadow and the text is blurred I'm guessing. In that case, the 'Anti aliasing method' should be set at sharp and not smooth for the text in these small buttons.
  • My bad, only the 'Quote' buttons aren't centered horizontally. You should center the main body of the word and any letter with a 'tail', the tail should hang down lower. In this style, I would of used a different font so that all letters were the same height wise.
  • I usually set the stroke at about 45% opacity so that the outline does not over power the button visually. But that is JMO. Yours may not need to be quite that light but a little more than they are I feel.
You can see in this image of a rank I made below with the opacity at 45% that it's just enough to make it stand out from the background but not so dark that it attracts all of your attention at first glance.
    Mac Os Style Buttons Dpr-28

But all this is JMO and is my way of doing things and is not set in stone on that's they way things must be done.
Just giving you little tips to try. Everyone had different tastes and styles.

Firstly thanks for the quality feedback ! Very Happy

At first I tried putting the drop shadow white, but no matter how much size/distance or opacity I played with, it was invisible :/
And so to get that effect, I added Stroke as gradient from black to white (up->down), which appears like Emboss Bevel stuff..
I set the Anti aliasing to "Crisp" Smile Smooth was probably due to black drop shadow, which was unconsciously inspired by ranks here I guess Razz (Mac Os Style Buttons Aidactif)

You were right about stroke, I lowered it and it looks much better thanks Smile , its effect was much increased due to inner shadow I believe Razz

I will make next set much better!! Mac Os Style Buttons 3310071108 Mac Os Style Buttons 3310071108

Sometimes an effect (especially glow) won't show up very good until you 'Convert to smart object' then 'Rasterize' the layer. If you set the 'Distance' at 1 and the 'Size' at 1 or 2, 'Opacity' at about 45%, 'Convert to smart object' then 'Rasterize' I think you'll get the effect you want.. You can always go back in the history to change it if it's not quite what you want.
