Solved Main content box will not expand full width of container

Post by Signal Warden on September 12th 2013, 10:25 pm

Hello again. I've got an issue with the center column in my forum at http://www.commandcenter.forumotion.com not expanding to the right. The module section on the right is set to 0px, but the center column is still behaving as if there is something there.

Also, I went back and checked it again while writing this and it reset the column width for the right column to 180px. I set it to 0 again and saved. Still no change.

Are you talking about games not matching the lay out of new Members?

No. if you look the right side of the main content is acting as if there are modules there (there is dead space filling the right side that is the same width as the modules on the left).

I highlighted the problem area below.

So do you want it to extend all the way down?

No. I'm looking to get the center column, the one with the main content, to extend fully to the right taking up that space in the red box. I basically want the column on the far left to stay as is and the content to take up the rest of the space.

Do you have 180 in the right column box in the administration panel under the forum widgets set up? Remove that number, so when you press the save button zero is left in the box.

The setting "width column 3 (right)" is set to 0px.

If you have JavaScripts turn off JavaScript Management and see if it fixes the issue.

Hello Signal Warden,

Please try this in your CSS:
Administration Panel > Display > Pictures and Colors > Colors > CSS
Code:
#content-container div#container{
width:115%;
}
I would highly recommend checking your Stylesheet for any codes which deal with the following properties:

- Margin
- Padding
- Width

If no scripts are causing this space then this is most likely occurring from your stylesheet.

It was essentially related to this. Thank you. The div id "content-main" was set to a margin of -183px (the result of turning off the right widget boxes) but there was a conflicting bit of css further down (attached for some reason to an unrelated class) that reset the right margin to 180px. This one had to be manually changed. Page is working fine now. This one is solved. Thanks for all of your help everyone.
