Solved Prosilver theme: how to make top box transparent

Post by Fede1583 on September 21st 2013, 12:47 pm

Hello everyone,
I'm using prosilver theme on my forum and I was wondering if there's a way to make the top blue box (where the big banner is located) transparent.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Do you mean the blue bar where the links "Home, Register" are or the countdown widget? I don't see a banner maybe because I'm using an ad blocker.

Sorry, I've been doing some experiments to try & figure out myself. I temporarily removed the banner....
I mean the blue box at the top of the page, where I've put the name of the forum.

Add this to you CSS stylesheet:

Note: Your forum background color is blue so when you add the transparent code to your forum its going to look the same as it is now.

AP>>Display>>Colors>>CSS styleheet
Code:
#logo-desc {
background-color: transparent;
}

I added the code and nothing changed as you said.
I set the header background colour to white and still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Add it to the top of your CSS stylesheet.

Try the color with an important tag like this:

Code:
#logo-desc {
background-color: #FFFFFF !important;
}

Have you tried using rgba? It has an alpha filter which can add transparency to your colors.

EX:
Code:
.headerbar {
background-color: rgba(18, 163, 235, 0.150);
}
above is standard rgb colors, but with the option to modify the opacity of that color. Modify 0.150 to whatever form of opacity you want.

EDIT:

Oh I almost forgot if you want to see the color changes of the header bar you need to remove the headerbar image. Navigate to..
Administration Panel > Display > Pictures and Colors > Pics management > Advanced

Find 'Header background image' remove it, and save. Afterwards any color changes should take effect.
