In progress Worried!

I recently saw that domain names may expire. I was unsure of how you could restore it. Though that problem is for far from now, I would like to know what would exactly happen and how you would get it back.

Also, does your domain name expire if the forum is inactive, or will it still expire if it is active? Like if it has been one year and your forum is active, would it still expire?

So if you could just please inform me of what exactly happens, and how to get it back, that would be great.

Thanks!

Oh, also I put this in the wrong topic. Sorry! I didn't realize.

most if not all the time when you buy a domain name itis yours for however long you bought it for whether the site is active or not. some sites that sell domain names have a grace period after it expires giving you a chance to renew it before it goes back up to the public, others dont.

when you buy a domain name you buy it for a certain length of time and the price reflects that for example it would go like this

$7.50 for a year
$14.00 for two years
and so on but they all do eventually expire when the time limit is reached and has to be repurchased

But I mean, I haven't bought it. I am talking about how it gives you the domain name for a year for free. Would it extend depending on the activity of your website, or would it still be the same?

usually its just for the time it is bought for

any extensions like what you are referring to would be up to the individuals sites to do (like a promotion or a customer appreciation thing)

Okay.

I sorta understand I guess. Whatever. I'll just buy it once my expiration date nears.

its hard to give you a direct yes or no considering there are so many sites which sells domain names. your best bet would be to look around and contact them directly with any questions you have regarding their policies

Are you referring to a free domain name offered by Forumotion?

Please change the title of your topic, that is related to your question/issue, so that other users will be able to find their question/issue using the search engine.
