Re: Favicon

Re: Favicon
You can use this code to any html document such as in generalities, announcements, html page, or if you have template editing you can add it between the "head" tags.
I would highly recommend you use a ico image because some browsers do not support a png used as a favicon, whereas all browser support the ico as a favicon.

- Code:
<link rel="shortcut icon"href=URL OF FAVICON GOES HERE>
Re: Favicon
I would also point out to make sure its a real ico image and not just an image that has a ico extension. Run your image through a convertor if you need to, but it must be a real ico image or the browser will know its has the wrong extension and not work.
Re: Favicon

Re: Favicon
Just so you know, those forum png icons that you see in the admin panel are not what is really used when you choose a favicon, when you choose one of those icons its a ico copy of the same png image. Those png's are for display purposes only. So when you choose one you are adding a ico image not a png.REDDWOLF22 wrote:did you try using a png file instead? considering the forum icons already on there are png
If you read my post, I was suggesting the OP check to make sure they are using a real ico image and not a png with a ico extension because they were having trouble viewing it. Its recommend to use a ico as a favicon because all browsers support it, whereas a png has limited support..REDDWOLF22 wrote:you guys seem to have missed the first post where he said he WAS using an ico file. i suggested a png file
