Solved Html page with tabs

Post by v3ga on October 22nd 2013, 6:09 pm

Hi,

i'm trying to make a html page that has tabs, sadly this isn't working at all because the css stylesheet is on a different page and i cant link everything that i want. I'm a total noob at coding but i tried to use some examples from tutorials that are out there to make tabs using css and html. One of the main problems is also how i can make content that is different from each of the tabs. This is what i'm using atm:

html (problem: a hfref):

<head>
<link href="http://element-nex.forumotion.com/admin/index.forum?part=themes&sub=logos&mode=css&extended_admin=1&tid=b554878365376722d2b2d185a32d8442" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<title>eLeMenT Server</title>
</head>

<body>
<div id="navbar">
<div id="holder">

<ul>
<li><a hfref="server.html">Server</a></li>
<li><a hfref="statistics.html">Statistics</a></li>
<li><a hfref="records.html">Records</a></li>
<li><a hfref="maps.html">Maps</a></li>
</ul>

</div> <!-- end holder div -->
</div> <!-- end navbar div -->

</body>

css:

#navbar {
  width:660px;
}

#navbar #holder {
  height:64px;
  border-bottom:1px solid #000;
  width: 630px;
  padding-left:25px;
}

#navbar #holder ul {
  list-style:none;
  margin:0;
  padding:0;
}

#navbar #holder ul li a {
  text-decoration:none;
  float:left;
  margin-right:5px;
  font-family:"Arial Black", Gadget, sans-serif;
  color:#000;
  border:1px solid #000;
  border-bottom:none;
  padding:20px;
  width:75px;
  text-align:center;
  display:block;
  background: #69F;
}

#navbar #holder ul li a:hover {
  background:#f90;
  color:#FFF;
  text-shadow:1px 1px 1px #000;
}

#holder ul li a#onlink {
  background:#FFF;
  color:#000;
  border-bottom:1px solid #FFF;
}

#holder ul li a#onlink:hover {
  background:#FFF;
  color:#69F;
  text-shadow:1px 1px 1px #000;
}

kind regards,

vega

Paste in head tag
Code:
<style type="text/css">
Then paste your css code, and on the end of css

Code:
</style>
And just to add, for forumotion you need to have right link for all pages, no just some like "main.html"

And you have wrong code for links. Code for link is
Code:
<a href="Full url here">Text</a>

Thanks for the help about the css!

About the a href: when i put a link in there refering to an other html file i made (in forumotion) it doesn't work. Well it does do something but it just redirects to the page, e.g.:

<li><a href="http://element-nex.forumotion.com/admin/index.forum?part=modules&sub=html&mode=go_edit&page=3&extended_admin=1&tid=b554878365376722d2b2d185a32d8442">Server</a></li>

this will redirect to the url i putted in and not use the html file i made there.
