Dont Know Whats Going On To Be Honest!

folks, 

something is happening my site today and dont know weather im been hacked or if its a problem on my side but i need to know ASAP..

first off, i came online to see a thread and the forum was extended because one of my supermoderators avatar was too big so i mailed him on facebook to change it and he said he didnt change it at all... he then came online and said that its not changed, that its the same as it always was... i went back online and its the one i seen thats extending the forum... hes also coming up as online when hes not!!

secondly, when i went into my admin panel.. its all changed.. its like if its a mobile version.... when i come on here its fine



ive put my site under construction for now and have removed that supermoderator incase hes been hacked...


need help ASAP please.. i just dont know whats going on!! laods of sites in ireland have been hacked recently so im very worried now...

Hm things like that happened to me once to but it was gone the next day. Is it still there? or did you find out about it today?

just today.... im logged out cause i was on my supermoderators profile to see was it the same.. now i cant log back in "as admin" cause the site is under construction...  

cant do nothing now!!!

normally you can always login with the account you founded the forum with even if its under construction

im not the founder... i took over the site awhile ago tho... thats my problem.. im trying to get in contact with him now... i just dont know weather i have a virus or my site is been hacked... things are very odd

well you do have acces to the admin panel do you? then normally you should always be able to login also

nope, i cant get back online.. i had here open on a separate page so thats why im able to post here

Try clean your browser cache.

Please change the title of your topic to something that is related to your problem.

It doesn't look like your forum has been hacked. As advised above, please try clearing your browser's cache.

ah lads, wtf is going on.... think ive some weird virus.. avatar pics on facebook are different for me now... i just cant understand this one.. im going to do a full anti virus scan and report back...

We can't help with any Facebook problems but if you think that doing a full virus scan will help then feel free to do so.

its not just a facebook problem.. i only noticed that now! 

profiles changed on my site..
avatars changed and they didnt change them..
members of staff coming up as online when they are not..
admin panel coming up like mobile version..

ill be honest is saying that i just dont know whats going on but 2 other members of my admin team are experiencing the same problems.. thats all i know for now! ill run a full virus scan anyway to see will it help

yeh do that and also contact the guy who founded the forum, you need his account to get your forum out of "under construction" state since you say you cant connect with your own acc

That is very odd. If you are the founder, you can also perform a forum restore using the utilities located here: https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/

thats done folks.. he came online and put the site back online but im still having these problems along with 2 others... im running full scans at the moment on my computer.. im only picking up things as i go along so thats why my posts varies from my original post... i just find it very odd that im seeing different avatars and profiles on the site where others are not seeing changes at all and members of staff showen as online when they are not.... and my admin panel looks like a mobile version...  im just afraid that someone will hack my account and ruin the site cause it has been happening on other forums here in ireland the last few months...

done both awhile ago and it didnt change... malwarebytes is after catching something half way through its scan and after it did that everything went back to normal. avatars, profiles and admin panel... so i assume it was a problem on my side but i just find it very very odd the way things changed for me like avatars etc etc etc and why was the same thing happening to 2 other members of staff..?? 

just to show yee what i was seeing on one of my supermods profiles, i took a screen shot.. he did not put up this avatar.. when he came online, he said it wasnt changed and it was the same so why was i seeing it..???



this is how i stumbled across the problem first, i came online and seen that this avatar was extending the forum so i told him to change it.. it wasnt changed for him but i could see it as seen above in the picture..?? and also seen people online when they were not online..?? odd


p.s before the questions start.. he is a supermod on the site "sxe10mike".. that screen shot was taken after i removed his powers cause i thought he was been hacked.. also note the online status when he wasnt actually on line.. this was the same with other people too

Well I know that sometimes that image hosting site has issues where images are changed for a short time.

thats fine so.. what about the online status?? himself and 3 others showed up as online when they were not?? sorry for been over cautious, theres numerous sites been hacked at the moment over here.. just dont want that happening...

everything is back to normal for now anyway but if anything similar happens again ill let yee know.. cheers folks

from what i know of it now, it was happening to 5 other members of staff as well..... "seeing what i saw" avatars changed, profiles changed, people coming up as online when they were not etc..

sorry if i come across as cautious, but i dont like the "we" part in your instructions above  

i cleared everything and reset my browser settings etc etc and it didnt change anything.. now heres the odd bit.. i ran a full scan with malwarebytes ("4hrs, 47mins")... and half way through the scan it detected something, once it was detected.. everything went back to normal for me and the 5 other members of staff so i can only imagine that what ever item or virus that malwarebytes picked up was effecting the forum through me if that makes sense...(not valid info, it just seems so) 

everything on my side is now ok and is also ok for the others as well now..
