Solved Changing main forum appeareance

Post by angel_of_night on October 25th 2013, 6:04 pm

First topic message reminder :

Hello.
I want to change some stuff on my forum.
This is how it looks right now:

So:
1: I want to add some lines between the posts/topics/last posts and between the sections.
2: I want to fill the whole title with an image, as right now it's not filled up for some reason.

Like this:

Thanks in advance.

You removed this:
Code:
tr.row1 > td > a > span,
tr.row2 > td > a > span{
position:relative;
top:15px;
}
and added this correct?
Code:
#memberlist.table1 tr > td > a > span{
position:relative;
top:15px;
}
I believe that should fix the usernames.

Perfect!! Everything is the way I wanted!! Except for the Avatar on top of the "Who is Online" table, but I will probably make a new topic later to check if it's possible to place avatars there. Smile
Can you just help me fix the "JOIN DATE" tab on the memberlist? Is too big, not proportioned with "LAST VISIT" or "POSTS".

Now I still have this to fix:

2.
I've noticed that if I have sub-categories and categories on a forum, the topic titles and numbers aren't centered
for example if you click support on my forum here http://www.namelesscraft.org/c4-support:

3.
The number of topics/posts/views are floating on the top.

I intend to make them on the center vertically, like this:

I also have noticed the "Replies" on the forums are before the "Views", can you also help me swap them? Smile

Thank you so much for your help so far!

Solved Re: Changing main forum appeareance

Post by Ange Tuteur on November 2nd 2013, 2:26 pm

I've set a range to automatically resize the join date and last post cells. From my test it seemed to have evened out the width for them.

Code:
#memberlist.table1 tr > td:nth-child(n+4):nth-child(-n+5){
width:auto;
}
3:
See if this will vertically align the values for topics/posts:
Code:
dd.topics, dd.posts{
line-height:600%;
}
.forumbg li.row > dl.icon > dd.posts{
line-height:220%;
}

Okay I'm hoping this will not conflict with the other tables, but this should change the positioning of view/replies for only the subjects:
Code:
.forumbg li.row > dl.icon > dd.posts, .forumbg .header > dl.icon > dd.posts{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
bottom:0px;
right:265px;
border-left:1px solid #353535 !important;
}
dd.views{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
bottom:0px;
right:188px;
border-right:1px solid #353535 !important;
}
If you have dd.views in your stylesheet, just remove the old one. Remove ONLY dd.views if its in your sheet.

2:
Finally I believe I have a solution for the posts/topics centering. I've specified a specific width for them and fixed the positioning some to hopefully prevent issues on other pages.

Code:
dd.topics{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
bottom:0px;
right:252px;
width:65px;
border-left:1px solid #353535 !important;
}
dd.posts{
position:absolute;
top:0px;
bottom:0px;
right:185px;
width:65px;
border-left:1px solid #353535 !important;
border-right:1px solid #353535 !important;
}
Applying this means you'll have to remove the old dd.topics and dd.posts codes to prevent any glitches.

Almost perfect!!
Everything I wanted is almost done. Smile
But now the memberlist is messing up after I've put the code:

Code:
#memberlist.table1 tr > td:nth-child(n+4):nth-child(-n+5){
width:auto;
}
The numbers are way too large now Sad everything is messing up!

Thanks again and again. Smile

Solved Re: Changing main forum appeareance

That is my mistake, apologies. I hadn't thought about the memberlist ID when I was fixing it and instead used nth-child.

Remove these codes from your CSS:
Code:
#memberlist.table1 tr > td:nth-child(n+4):nth-child(-n+5){
width:auto;
}
Code:
#memberlist.table1 tr > td:nth-child(1){
width:auto;
}
and add this one to fix the width:
Code:
.forumbg #memberlist.table1 tr > td{
width:auto;
}
That should hopefully prevent the cell width from being modified on the memberlist.

Almostttt!!!
Everything is just fine, but the username tab is now small.
Just needs a bit of margin to the right! Smile

Aha this should do it:
Code:
td.avatar-mini{
width:22% !important;
}
After we readjusted the cells we needed to add an important tag to that so it will override the last code I gave you. It should already be in your stylesheet just without '!important'
