I would have nothing about hacks and warez on my forum.

Also noticed that you have a lot of questionable downloads on your forum.

Please try not to double post.

Hi,

I see that you have a category called: Game Cheats Forum

Game cheat codes and hacks, Illegal distribution of a game (ie, copy/paste of files, filesharing ect) are not allowed and are Illegal in most countries; Including on our forums.

In that section, it has hack discussions.  If you are talking about cheats that the company that made the game did not made then you are still talking about hacks.

What exactly is the section called Apple News Forum about?

If I was you, I would change the subject of my forum.

while the site themselves may not violate the TOS if it contains any glitches, exploits, or hacks the makers of the game, device, etc. did not intentionally put in the game it is considered a hack and by promoting those site on your forum you are violating the TOS.

Post by Iapphacks October 25th 2013, 3:24 pm

Okay I think there is a minor misunderstanding going on here...

Cheating or glitching or hacking video games in this case is not illegal as are cheats and stuff fall under 2 categories they in no way hack or attempt to hack any server information in any game assuming a game has a server most do not as they are offline games only and so therefore could not violate any laws governed in the at least the United States, Canada, Japan, China, and about all of Europe to my knowledge...

The reason why I say this is there is a very popular device out there called action replay made by a company called Datel design and Development Ltd...
I mention them because the product they sell allows you to cheat at many videogames in a way not intended by the original game makers and this product is clearly sold not just at datels on website but on amazon and in wal-marts online and offline and a bunch of other places like gamestop and is sold in america, japan, china, like all of europe almost and they make codes that modify files in a game and yet they have never once had a legal issues with posting cheats/hacks that modify games for any of the popular systems they sell there product for which include systems like the xbox, xbox 360, wii, psp, playstation 1,2, & 3, hell I can go back as far as the age of the super nintendo which they made devices for and thats easily over 20 years ago and as you can see this is some of the problem that confuses me on why you say its illegal just on that end in many countries to make game cheats and hacks and talk about glitches...
Also in the place of glitches I would refer you to a site called gamefaqs which hosts about games on every system even mobile and lists glitches and stuff for games if its users post it and it has never been forced to shutdown or in anyway faced legal action gamefaqs has also been around for easily over 15 years...
And onto my 2nd point our hacks/cheats and even glitches in no way allow for any person to obtain the game illegally...
This means if you want to use our cheats you the end user must go out on your own and get the game from the app store like everyone else...
Now could someone pirate a game we made a hack for yea but not because of our hack but because they in the privacy of there own home or wherever outside of our control or forums commit piracy but not because of or with the help of our hacks/cheats or info on the forums and as such is beyond our control as these do not allow nor could they allow you to get a app or game...
Now this part I do not mean to sound like I am causing trouble cause I am not I am really trying to understand the problem now that I have removed the stuff that does or should violate your tos. I just do not want to lose my forums but at the same time whats left now is not illegal as like I said it can in no way be used for piracy and only effects items on your phone which last time I checked is legally allowed to be edited at your discretion as long as it does not allow you to say hack or otherwise compromise a server that is not owned by you or you do not have permission to effect and of course again I point out that our hacks in no way allow you to do such a thing...
Hopefully this will help you understand what we mean when we say game cheats/hacks and that we in no way are promoting any piracy or illegal objects on our fourms...
Ohh yea and in response about what are Apple News Forum section is about its about just that discussing the latest updates from apple like hey the new iphone 5s has been released what do you think about it or another prime example is Apple just release a new official software update or Apple just released a new Ipad nothing malicious there just a in general side off topic forum like many forums have to discuss stuff they like but may not fit into the over all theme not anything about or otherwise relating to pirating or how to pirate anything from apple... Just the same info you can basically get on any google search or from apples site themself or any major tech news website and the like aka legal public knowledge...
Hopefully this will help fix what I believe is a big misunderstanding now and also provide a better understanding of what we are doing or want to do and answer all questions...
Also in hopes of making this better we have removed the term hack from all things to better make it aware we are not about illegal actions just legal game cheating and we have added rules that show we will not allow any talk about or how to or links to piracy and will ban all users instantly and remove all posts as we find them of course...

this is not a case of what is legal and what is not, it doesnt matter if it is legal. forumotion has set for in their TOS that they do not want any forms of hacking promoted on any forum that uses their server, that is their right.

Okay I understand your point here but I would assume the type of hacking they are talking about is the illegal type that involves piracy and software and movie theft and warez but to liken game cheating to that kind of hacking or compromising peoples personal or bussiness computers or the like is not even close a little clarity on how they define hacking would be nice.

Cause I mean not to sound like a jerk but if they mean you can not use or discuss anything that might do or have to do or promote any place that might have or might not have hacking on it or capable of finding anything related to hacking on it you would not even beable to promote google cause google can be used to find hacks which I would not endorse you to do... I understand that is a bit of a far exaggeration but I mean how far down this route do you go...

I know thanks to internet that may sound like I am just trying to start stuff do to lack of vocal and visual context but I am not...

I understand there right but I mean according to the way you say it I can not even talk about phpbb hacks which in this context means hacks that modify the visual content of your forums which also known as modding which is also not illegal and I am sure is allowed to be discussed on forumation and would not violate there TOS a prime example of said hack would be this one from a popular phpbbhacks site ACP Link in Header Allows the administrator to go to the ACP from overall header. Now under this context they would be illegal to link to here or even discuss but somehow I do not think that would be so... These are just in this case mods and are also called hacks and that is widely known... So I am thinking context and legality do matter... And a better clarification is needed on this subject...

I mean should talk about phpbb hacks also know as phpbb mods not be allowed cause they use the word hack or are they okay cause its talking about modification even though these mods are not intended to be around by the original creators of phpbb or else they would be included if so forumation needs to go through it self cause it has many mentions of phpbb hacks aka phpbb mods and links to and discussions about and even questions of how to and can I add a mad aka hack for my phpbb account... etc. etc. etc.

So see why I think clarity is needed...

your trying to argue semantics now,

their is a difference between modding a forum with code that the forum was designed to accept and modding a device or a game in a way the developers never intended.

talking about hacks is allowed as long as you give no instruction on how to do it or post any links that show or tell how to do it. i dont see a problem with cheat codes as whatever game they were for had to be coded to accept them and as far as glitches ingame im not sure you may want to ask about that as it involves no modding of the game in anyway and doesnt break the TOS as it stands now.

for example it  was not illegal for someone to mod the ps3 gaming console with homebrew but sony went ahead and bricked all that were connected to the internet. did they argue with sony that it wasnt illegal?? no because it broke there TOS

as far as google is concerned in your example while people do use it to find hacks and whatnot they do not promote said features like the site you are stating you have advertised on your site. from the look of your site it is almost or entirely founded around hacking this or that which is a violation of forumotions TOS.

as for people calling everything hacked i agree but think the majority is just plain using it wrong. it would be impossible for a site like this to include every add-on, perk, or whatever. that is why they allow us to add extra we may want by allowing us to use java, html, and css coding. if they didnt want us to do it and dint have access to the tools but found a way to do it anyway then it would be hacking. you cant hack something in a way that it was designed to be changed

like i said you can argue what defines hacking all you want but all your doing is wasting time as i dont see forumotion bending on their terms

Just for the record though on your ps3 bricking issue they did brick a ton of ps3s they also quickly a few days later issued a update to fix all modded ps3s that got bricked so that should say something about that issue...

Also this means then my site can not link to or even post codes for say popular and 100% legal game hacking devices that are sold worldwide like action replay or code breaker or even gameshark as it would violate the TOS cause it makes a game do something otherwise not intended by the original creator??? If so thats a bit overkill I would think...

yes but that update was to fix problems with the xmb not showing up. not for the ones that had homebrew installed as they would brick again as soon as plugged into internet

I did but you probably missed it its okay I will address it here specifically the Apple News Forum is just that for posting and talking about the latest Apple News aka products made by apple like the New Iphone 5s or the latest firmware update IOS 7.0.3 and other good examples include like basically any info you can garner that is legal public knowledge about apple and apple related products and services heres just one of many topics in that section to explain it...

Apple launches iPad Air, the lightest iPad ever

and heres whats inside that post

Apple thus far has shared some interesting business stats (such as 1 million apps on the App Store, 60 billion app downloads and 64 percent of iOS devices on iOS 7, to mention just a few), announced that OS X Mavericks will be launching later today as a free download, confirmed that the new Mac Pro pro desktop is due in December starting at $2,999, shown off the new 64-bit versions of iWork and iLife apps for the Mac and iOS with full file compatibility across these platforms and refreshed the new 13 and 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros with faster PCIe storage, Thunderbolt 2 I/O, fourth-generation Intel chips, both also available today at more affordable prices than ever.

And now onto the main thing – the new iPads. Say hello to iPad Air.(...)
Read the rest of Apple launches iPad Air, the lightest iPad ever

As you can see nothing malicious or illegal about talking about the latest tech gadgets that have been released how much they cost and the like so basically like I said its a section on the forum to talk about all the latest news and stuff that relates to apple products. I hope this helps clarify what that forum section is for...

I know it doesn't match the rest of the forums base idea but a lot of forums have a section to talk about unrelated stuff to there normal forums if I need to drop it to be considered conformed then let me know I will but I can not see in any way how this section could be a violation of your TOS

Thank you for this definitive answer I still argue game save modding and videogame cheating is not the same as hacking in the sense of the term that I think you think it does but we will do what we can in the remaining days to conform our website I guess then...

I do respect your final say so but I do feel this TOS is going a bit overboard on its all encompassing coverage of hacking and would say it should consider the difference between illegal hacking and legit legal game cheating and save game modding...

I will post back to any further reply's as needed and will also post back when I believe my site is in full conformity to have a mod double check it to make sure I have fully conformed before my remaining days to conform are up
