Tutorials proposal

Post by Ikerepc on October 29th 2013, 12:02 pm

Hi,

I have suggestion to add forum, or topic like for forum promotions on what members will post, then managers will see tutorial and acpet od deline it.

Why this will be good? Because now when someone post tutorial it need to be sent to base, and then someone from staff write it.
Now everybody will write his/her tutorial, and staff just need to move it to other tutorials.

It is an okay Idea however, I could see it becoming cluttered with messy, similar, or already existing tutos. I believe the current way of submitting tutorials is fine and I trust the judgement of the team which reviews the submissions to ensure quality.

The reason we send them is so they can be reviewed, if the tutorial is of good quality(original, not stolen, ect..) it will be accepted, and of course some changes may be applied to it.

Yes, I know that, but tutorial can be changed, reviewed and then moved. And if it isn't good it can be deleted, very easy. Smile

Hi,

I will have to decline this suggestion, I think it's a safer way the way we handle the tutorials right now.

The issue with that is that all users can see these tutorials. What if perchance a user posts a tutorial with malicious content and another user embeds that into their forum?

Exactly Seth. We do require for users to submit them via PM, that way we analyze the coding before
we let anybody access them. This is security purposes for all users' forums.

I agree this isn't a good idea. The Staff don't re-write your tutorial entirely, sure they might change things or edit the English but that is there right when a user submits one. It says in black and white.

I just don't see the need for it, to me a forum allows possible illegal tutorials to be uploaded and for the whole forum to see which could be dangerous.

I think the current method of submitting to Base is the best idea.

But if someone want to give + for tutorial, he / she will give + tostaff who are write that, no to tutorial maker. And you can get lot of + to it.

That may be true however, its not really about receiving reputation. Its about helping other users improve their forums or give useful information. If a member pluses that tutorial up, see it as a thank you.

Don't worry, you still get credit for writing the tutorial.

Sorry but I will have to vote no on this, too. Because the membership is so large, it is best to have the tutorials send by private messages.

Just as everyone already mentioned, there could be malicious codes in the tutorials or something that can mess your forum. So before it goes public, we prefer to check it so that it does not cause problems on a members forum.

Hence, this suggestion is Refused.
