In progress iPad posts won't work on forum

Post by Wing6704 on November 13th 2013, 11:23 am

Hi Chaps,

We've been using your forumotion now for awhile, and it's proved to be really good experience so far. One of our users only uses an iPad, and they've messaged me to say they can't post?

I have actually gone through the process myself and as soon as you hit 'submit' the blue bar at the top loads as if it's going to go through, and then it doesn't, it's stuck on the post edit still?

Is there an admin option to enable posts from tablets and smartphones? I read somewhere about UBB, no idea what that is.

I'm hoping it's an option!

Many thanks,
Ash

Hiyas,

What forum version are you using? As far as I can tell, there is no option to enable posting for smartphones and the like.

Also, link to your forum please?

Hi,

We're using phpBB3. It appears the user can reply to posts using her iPad, but not create a topic as an original poster, the edit screen hangs, flashes and then reappears, it doesn't actually submit/post.

I have tried this myself, logged in as an administrator using my iPad to create a post titled 'test', with the same word in the text field and it does the same. It doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas?

Hi,

When you do the posting, in the hanging, does it act like it continually loads, or hangs dead, where it doesn't look like loading (Icon showing, but not the loading bar)
Also, what happens when you hit the refresh button while it's in a perpetual hung state?

Okay, listen! I mean read!

I can post posts with my iPad on my Forumotion forum and this support forum, but not on other's forums! Then it just reloads the page and the post doesn't get posted!

I don't need to provde my forum URL because my forum is fine, but I can't post on OTHER'S forums, only mine and this support forum!

Well then the forums where you can not post, the founders of those forums need to come here and ask for help.

But I've tried tons of forums! I can't make a post on any forums made with Forumotion, exept help.forumotion and my own forum!

I have a user who mostly uses Ipad for my forum everyonesblog.net. Could you test it. If it doesn't work it might be your Ipad. Try clearing you cookies or something. You can post without an account in the "need help" category. (http://www.everyonesblog.net/f33-need-help)
