In progress New Domain - what happens to the old one?

Post by jason the timid November 14th 2013, 10:12

I've read over the actual terms, but found it a bit confusing.

I want to change the domain of my forum ( auv2.net ) to something else soon, and just want to know what will happen to auv2.net

I want to have auv2.net as a domain name, but for another purpose. I'm not sure if that's in the terms of conditions. I'll probably register it through another provider, but register the new address through Forumotion.

Thanks =)

auv2.net, you will need to let it expire & only then you can buy it from another domain registrar.
Domain name transfers are disallowed now.

alright, thanks.

And the same will go for the next domain I buy, right?

edit; can a domain name be cancelled early on the forum, or is that a mistake? ( says so in the credits area of the admin panel )

You can cancel the domain name brought from Forumotion. However, it need not be available at another domain registrar to buy if thats what you really want to ask. By, cancelling I believe you only remove the redirection.

So, if I buy a new domain, the old one won't be available for 200ish days ( time left on it )

and if I buy a third, the second domain won't be available for 365 days after purchase?

I cannot say about days. I don't understand what you really want to know.

If you mean by the availability of the domain name after cancelling it, it take time to become available again. We do not exactly know how long it takes to become available again.
