In progress Admin stopping posters posting without warning, not banning them.

Post by sassy1261 on November 16th 2013, 10:07 pm

The admin of Inaflap.forumotion.co.uk has stopped at least two members to my knowledge from posting on the forum.  They have not been banned, when they log on they are told their user name and password are not recognised.   The only thing I can think of is that the admin has changed the password.   He also made it look as if one poster had left voluntarily and changed the name to 'Gone for Good'.   There was no warning and the only thing the poster did was to disagree with a political stance.   Is this something you are happy with?

I think he is just set them inactive, no change password or ban.

We are support forum for help forumotion forums, not for this problems, if you don't like forum don't go there... We can't help you, it isn't our forum, I'm sorry.

You can set member inactive, that is like when you wait for account registration, but you are registered, not banned, but you can't acess your profile. I think it is it, but I'm not shure.

If I might say so, it shows forumotion up in a very bad light. I was previously a moderator on another forumotion forum, still a member, and I consider that doing something like that, without any warnings is extremely underhand. If you can't do anything, thats fine, the forum is after all just a vent place for right wing extremists and holocaust deniers.

No, it show admin in bed light, what we can do?

It isn't our forum, somebody is create that, and if it don't brake ToS we can't do anything.

We can't ban him and close forum because of that, and if we can why? It is his forum, and if he want he can do anything. If you are on some vBulletin forum, and get ban you will not create vBulletin forum? No. It is just one admin, no all network of forums.

I'm moderator / administrator / member on lot of forumotion forums, and I have few mine. If I don't like some forum I just gone, and it's all, we can't do anything with that. Sorry.

Hello

The best solution to this problem is to contact Buttercup personally via PM so she can do whatever she needs to do with the forum Smile

Regards,
Kaizer Lee

I would like to clarify, there is no need to PM ButterCup. The person who owns the forum, has the right to deny a member permissions as he deems it correct or wrong. Its his choice.

In this case, we cannot help you. Sorry.
