 i was wondering why points? if you can't buy anything with them also is there anyway to set-up a membership

There are many thing you  can use points for:

shops
buy a service your forum offers
see how activate a member is
etc.

Please start a new topic for the membership question.  In the future please start a new topic for each question/issue that is not related.
