Moderator CP?
I may be blind, but I can't find the moderator CP to my forum. Do I have to configure it in the AP? I use version phpbb3

You can access the MCP at the bottom of a sub forum that your moderate :
or at the bottom of a topic in a forum you moderate, there will be a list of quick mod tools.

It could be the theme you are using. It could be the designer of the theme used CSS to hide it.

I feel like that moderates the forum though. Is there a better way to moderate members? Like hide posts, mod preview them, etc...?

There is not an option for approving posts.

That is the only "moderation panel" on your forum. There is no formal moderation panel where you can approve posts etc. This, however, has been suggested and there should be an ongoing vote in the suggestion section.
