Hiring Reviewers Thread

Post by Jadster on Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:02 pm

Hello Forumotion Community,
I just had a quick little suggestion to share with you all regarding the review service that is provided here at the Forumotion Support Forum.

My thought, was that the review team would have a little something like what the Graphics Team had done here.
http://help.forumotion.com/t110708-hiring-graphic-designers

What I mean by this, is by making a thread and by having a form to fill out. Stating why we think we would help the team, what we can offer, why we think we should be added to the team, and so on and so forth. Details for that would be up to the staff to decide. But this way, the review team and FM Support Staff can see which of their members are interested in joining the review team and which ones they could keep an eye out for in the event that they are looking for more reviewers.

So, if you think this is a good idea or not, please give your feedback here. I am all for your ideas and comments on my idea, this is just something that I feel would be nice to see added but not a 100% needed thing.

Regards,
Jadster

That would be interesting, however, right now the service isn't as much as active to need more then 2 Reviewers in the team. Although, lets say within the future we do have a busy area in the review section, then it would be nice. However, we intend to hire those who we analyze that are helpful and complete requests frequently at a 100% professional way. So, my decision is in between of yes and no, as for now I won't vote.

Thank you for your voice on this Sir Chivas! I understand where you are coming from and I am really using this thread to just get thoughts and bring it up incase the staff decide to go through with it but thank you for your voice on this!

I think it would be helpful to have it, just because it does explain to members who want to be a Reviewer what that they need to do in order to be considered one.

Many people ask me "how can I become a designer?" It is so much easier for me to link them to that thread than to explain that by proposing their own work and by completing requests, we will consider them.

However it may be understood that doing reviews regularly is a requirement, some may not know that they should do the job before they are hired as one, nor will they know if you are really paying attention to their reviews if they haven't voiced an interest in the job.

If you use a similar thread, all of this could be clarified, rather than each interested member asking a reviewer time and time again when they want to know and the reviewer having to type out an explanation (as well as explain the position isn't guaranteed) each time.

I cannot comment on how small or large the interest is in becoming a reviewer vs. a designer, because I honestly do not know those statistics, nor do I know how often a reviewer is asked how to become one.

I'm going to avoid voting but I'm going to say no and in time I will register my vote as I'm not 100% sure but I'm about 99.6% sure I'm going with no lol.

My reasoning is simple, the review section is small, spanning one forum (two if you count the completed requests) and in all honesty its not really hard to keep track of who's doing well and being active in the review section because it's only one forum. Its easy to see potential people because those people will be people who are providing high quality reviews and doing them consistently. Whereas the graphics section spans multiple sections and because of the nature of the Graphics Design section it can be slightly tricky to see who really wants a chance of being on staff. Plus joining staff isn't always about completion rates, it does have other factors.

I just don't think a form will add any value to the section.

Perhaps not a "Hiring Reviewers" thread but rather a "How to become a reviewer" thread would be more helpful. As stated above, the review section is not as large as the graphics section and therefore only one or two reviewers will be enough for that section.

I voted no for this.

Thank you Base for your input! I am starting to agree with a "How to become a reviewer" thread more now as well and I think that would be a nice idea as well!

A new thread regarding 'Joining the Forumotion team' is already in process, to keep things clear on how to join to the different groups here on the support forum.

Thank you for suggesting.

Suggestion Accepted
