Should Forumotion use CKEditor?
Replace the current WYSIWYG editor with CKEditor
The current editor for Forumotion has a few notorious bugs, and CKEditor is a much more modern editor (that I believe Forumotion have considered using it in the past, not sure how well that went)

Check the demo there.

It looks great.
Although, i am not sure if it can be incorporated or not. Because, when i saw the source of the demo it uses html.
I would rather not have html enabled on my forum & only want to work with bbcode.
After a bit of research, i found this.

The last post mentions, that bbcode can be used.
So i am voting Yes for this suggestion, if only it has BBcode.

I am voting no. I like it the way it currently is. I've used this editor and it's not good to me.

Yep, it does have BBCode (I've actually downloaded the source files and determined it does indeed use BBCode). So simply all you have to do is disable the HTML.
Re: Replace the current WYSIWYG editor with CKEditor
It's on the way!!
The new editor, which was briefly seen a little while ago is based on CKEditor, however modified for use by a commercial company, which unfortunately was required to be removed due to several stability issues.
Legal reasons for the modification.
I believe that the devs/techies, didn't do any off line testing, they just pushed it and then would do whatever we said. We said remove, it's gone.
But once the issues are fixed, and a few new options are built into the AP, our new editor, which is based on CKEditor, will shine
No timeline has been given, just that "It's coming, possibly 2012..."

Because of the *open source* license, am I correct?
Anyway, thanks Darren for the info
Re: Replace the current WYSIWYG editor with CKEditor
Yup, your right
And ofcause the techs like to modify anything that they find and put it on our forums and "Fix it later" lol.
But Ive just checked again, it is confirmed for this year, assuming everything goes to plan
