Few Question on Phpbb3 as a Newbie. NEED HELP

01. Customize Navigation Bar in phpbb3

As you can see this is my Navigation Bar. 

[*]Home  
[*]Calendar  
[*]News Events  
[*]FAQ  
[*]Search  
[*]Memberlist  
[*]Usergroups  
[*]Profile  
[*]You have no new messages  

1.1. First I want to remove unwanted tabs like memberlist, search, Profile, replace You have No images with Inbox

1.2. Then I want to add few things. Can I create a sub forum with in a portal or different tab to publish news events to the community ?? Also I cannot add anything to the Portal in News Events section. What is the reason ?

These are the basic question at the moment. I may have loads later on.

IF you want to remove "memberlist,search., and profile, goto
Admin Panel>DIsplay>Pictures and COlors>Pics Management>First tab>scroll down

if you want a portal with news events,
Admin Panel>modules>portal and widgets>portal management>install portal(if you havent),>create a page(name whatever you want)>press structure> you might see that there are other choices>delete everything else except the news>
click the modify button on the news> when you enter you might see something like that> modify how ever you like

Thanks for your reply. But I am afraid it didn't work for me for below steps. All I want is to remove those tabs. But with your guidelines I only can hide the Images. That Won't help.  Thanks Mate,
