Stopping Various attempts

Post by Mamoru on January 2nd 2014, 3:28 pm

Hello,

My forum recently had... as many messages as a certain someone could, post this on it

Code:

<style type="text/css">body, a:hover {cursor:
url(http://cur.cursors-4u.net/anime/ani-2/ani201.cur), progress
!important;}</style><a
href="http://www.cursors-4u.com/cursor/2008/11/15/naruto-normal.html"
target="_blank" title="Naruto Normal"><img
src="http://cur.cursors-4u.net/cursor.png" border="0" alt="Naruto
Normal" style="position:absolute; top: 0px; right: 0px;"
/></a><div style=" position: fixed; height: 100%; width:
100%; background: white; top: 0; left: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0;
font-family: arial; font-size: 50px; text-align: center; line-height:
5;"><style>.conteneur_minwidth_IE {
display:
none;}</style><font color="grey">Forum in Maintenance
</font></br><span style=" font-size: 15px; line-height:
0; position: relative; bottom: 80px;"><font color="grey">This
forum has actually recieved a High DoS Attack. We are working on getting
 the server back up.</font>
</span></div>
<a href="http://www.forumotion.com" target="_blank">.</a>

Literally hundreds.
We had to disable HTML on our site, which caused lots of issues. We deleted the messages, only to come back and found it done again, with different cursors, different styles, and slightly different heights, widths, messages.

This is the 3rd time. How can we stop such html well... shenanigans, without disabling HTML? I know there are most likely 500 ways to write this simple thing

1. Make sure that there is staff on all the time to keep an eye out.

2. Disable HTML.
