Solved Usergroups Not Holding Color when Added to new usergroup

Post by GothyKz on January 10th 2014, 5:00 am

I have spent over an hour looking for the answer to this question. If it is already answered somewhere I apologize, I couldn't find it.

I have 4 usergroups for my forum. Admin, Mods, Newbies, and Reg. Members. After members make their first post they are automatically added to the Newbies group, which the color for that group is grey in the legend. Once members have reached 100 posts, they are automatically added to the Reg. Members group. The color for this one is black. However, when a member moves to the Reg. Members group, they retain the grey instead of changing to black. They are also still in the Newbies group. I have tried removing said member from the newbie group, but after refreshing, they are there again. I have no other special permissions in these groups, they are only there to show the difference in members. Is there a way to fix this that I am missing?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Hello GothyKz ,

For this group did you make sure to tick yes for 'color group members' ?

Solved Re: Usergroups Not Holding Color when Added to new usergroup

Hi!

Sometime if a ranking is before one in the legend section, and you put a member into GA and LA was behind, then the admin puts the user unto LA! Their username will still stay not the colour grey since the rank is higher than LA.

Example:
Graphic Artist was higher than Chat Box Moderator

Ellie was the GA and then after a month was out into CBM. She had an @ in the chatbox, just her name would not be colour ped in the chatbox colour since the Graphic Artist is a higher rank (: .

For your problem go to admin panel>User & groups >
Group administration> move your REG. Rank to underneath mods with the arrows> then go back to your forum and check the usernames in the group.

Their usernames should be black now Smile

Hello,

I suggest you first to read the full tutorial for this:
http://help.forumotion.com/t10988-organizing-groups-colors-in-legend

Also, make sure that the groups are set to closed or open.

Yes, I had yes ticked for color groups members. They both are closed groups.

Ah! Thank you Help@bearville! That worked perfectly and also seemed to have fixed my not being able to remove that member from the other usergroup!!

Thank You everyone for your help, This topic is solved!
