Solved Hiding Navbar Default Text.

Post by Selvester on January 13th 2014, 12:18 pm

Hello. So I asked a question not to long ago about how to change the default text in the navigation bar. For example changing 'Home' to 'Forum'. I got my answer and everything was solved with a little Javascript. But now I would like to know if there is a way to hide certain parts of the navigation bar? For example something like the 'Usergroups' button. I know that if you have images you could simply leave it blank and no image would come up... But I don't usually use images so I was hoping there was another way to hide certain buttons... Using either CSS or Javascript...

Hi, you can try this code which is set for hiding the memberllist. To hide another nav link change the name in the code from memberlist to the link name you want hidden. Use all lower case.

Code:
a[href="/memberlist"]{
display:none;
}

Thank you. It works. ^-^

There is an extra space between two of the links now where the old navlink used to be but I am going to assume that can't be changed. I'm sure I'll learn to live with it. Thank you again! Problem solved.

Your welcome! Actually you can remove that extra space by going to AP>>Display>>Headers & Navigation>>

On that page use the green arrows on the left and move the links making the space all the way to the top.

... I can't believe that has never occurred to me before... Thank you again! This has definitely been solved now!

EDIT: I would mark as solved but the Solved icon does not appear to be there...
